McLane PE Newsletter
Students in the News
Last weekend, we had eight students participate in the city-wide free throw competition. It was an outstanding event, and all of our participants had a blast! We had three students place in the top three for their age group. Two of which received first place honors. The students who won first place will be competing in a regional tournament in West Allis on March 12th. Let's wish them luck!
Jumprope For Heart Conclusion
Jumprope For Heart 2016 is in the books! Thank you to all of those who participated in the event. It is because of our awesome students and families that we were able to raise $12,328.86 for the American Heart Association! Here are a couple of items to keep in mind now that the event is over.
- Students set to receive T-Shirts, Jumpropes, other dogs, etc. should anticipate those coming within the next couple weeks. I have placed the order, and they are on their way.
We had 55 students raise at least $100. Those students qualify for a free limo ride. The date isn't set, but we are planning to have it around the second week of May. We will be sending home permission slips, and more information as we get closer to that date.
- With the students working so hard to gather donations, I want to make sure everyone receives all of their hard-earned prizes. If your son/daughter has not received a gift, please don't hesitate to contact me, and we'll get it straightened out.

As Jumprope For Heart comes to a close, March Madness is getting ready to tip-off! March Madness is a family fun night designed to get all of our McLane families together for a night of entertainment. The doors open at 5:30. When you show up, there will be poster making, face painting, and basketball stations for kids. At 7:00, get your popcorn ready, as the teachers will take the court for our faculty basketball game. The showdown this year will be between the Comets and The Shooting Stars.
If you would like to make it a full night experience, you will also have an option of ordering a pizza dinner. Last year, we had a slice of pizza, carrots, and water available for those families who chose to place an order. Please look for an order form coming home with your child in the next week or so.
