Welcome Back

I hope that the Holiday Break was restful for you and your family. The first week of the Spring Semester began with a couple of changes. Most noteworthy (to students): We did extend student lunches to a full 30 minutes---this does NOT include the 5 minute passing period!

It is never easy to lose staff members, but over the break we added two new physics teachers to replace Ms. Knapton and Ms. Shaw, who both moved due to a spouse's job transfer. Ms. Elizabeth Hurst will replace Ms. Knapton and Mr. Bobby Vickers will replace Ms. Shaw. Mr. Ortiz (our assistant principal over science) and the science department chair, Mr. Pruitt, will be assisting both teachers during this transition time.

Parents for some of you this semester may be your last as a parent of school age children. I hope your student's journey through MISD was everything you wanted it to be for them. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly to make this last semester a great one.

PTO Updates

The next PTO Lunch and Learn will be on Tuesday, January 19th @ 11:45 in the downstairs flex space. Our superintendent, Dr. Rick McDaniel, will be presenting on the state of MISD. Come early to get a great seat!!!!
