A Note From Mrs. Doyle
Dear Families,
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch our Open House videos and slidedeck presentations. If you have not yet had the chance to do that, please see our Open House website by October 13. I am so grateful to the teachers for putting everything together for you amidst all of that is being asked of them right now.
Room Parents
Although we are not allowed to have parents in the school building for the foreseeable future, there may still be opportunities for classrooms to do special things this year. If you are interested in serving as a Room Parent for your child’s classroom, please reach out to Jenn Spencer at jennifer.quinby@gmail.com and Jenn LeMire at jnnlemire@gmail.com. Thank you, Jenn and Jenn for organizing Room Parents this year.
Mask Wearing - Adults
It is essential that every adult on school campus during the school day wears a mask over their mouth and nose. There have been issues with this, so please alert grandparents, nannies, and anyone else who is authorized to pick up your child that this is a requirement. If you are getting out of your car, you must wear a mask. If you are picking up your child as a Walker, you must wear a mask. If you are dropping something off at school, you must wear a mask. Please do not make monitoring this expectation for adults another job for us during this already seriously stressful year.
Remote Only Families
Thank you for picking up and dropping off your child’s materials on Wednesdays between 1-3 p.m. Starting October 14, we will have a drop box for each of our Remote teachers so that you can deposit your child’s completed work in the teachers’ box. This way, teachers will not have to open each individual box to collect completed work. Please be sure your child’s name is on everything. You will still pick up your child’s work from your child’s box. It is important that families pick up and drop off the work weekly so the students have all the materials they need for the upcoming classes. Some teachers include work that begins the next day and other teachers are supplying work for the following week. Please read the information teachers are sending to know which is true for your child. Classes run much more smoothly if all students have what they need for the lessons.
Thank you for your support and partnership. I hope you and your family enjoy this beautiful, long weekend.
Best,
Annette Doyle
Picture Day is November 12th and 13th!
Remote Students Will Be Invited With A Special Email!
COVID-19 Travel Order
Sudbury Public Schools is strictly adhering to the COVID-19 Travel Order. We would like to remind parents that the travel order pertains to anyone entering Massachusetts from out-of-State and includes MA residents returning from second homes or weekend trips to any state not considered to be lower-risk.
Massachusetts residents are urged to limit any out-of-State travel only to States designated as COVID-19 lower-risk States.
The current list of COVID-19 lower-risk States includes:
Colorado Connecticut Maine New Hampshire New Jersey New Mexico New York Vermont Washington
*Rhode Island is currently considered a higher-risk State
If you travel for any reason you must follow the mandated guidelines below unless you meet the exemptions for travel listed below.
Exemptions to travel order:
Transitory travel through a State
Travel for work, school, or medical treatment
Military travel requirement
*Any overnight stay in a State considered higher-risk requires a COVID test and quarantine until test results are known.
Children age 10 and younger are not required to be tested but must follow the quarantine requirement of their parent(s)/guardian(s) until test results are known, or if no testing is done, the end of the 14 day quarantine period.
A negative result from an antigen test must be confirmed by a negative result from an FDA EUA-approved molecular (PCR) SARS-CoV2 test, on a sample obtained 72 hours or less prior to arrival in Massachusetts. Serology tests will not be accepted.
Please inform your school nurse of travel plans to a higher-risk State and provide a copy of the COVID-19 test result before your child(ren) returns to school.
Complete the Massachusetts Travel Form before returning to MA from a higher-risk State. For more info: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-travel-order
