Cholera is an infectious disease that cause watery diarrhea and eventually death if untreated.
Cholera is caused by contaminated food or water. In the Industrial Revolution the working conditions were considered dangerous and contaminated. if someone drank contaminated water or ate food on the job, mostlikely other workers got it too.
Symptoms of Cholera are diarrhea, dyhydration, shock and seizures.
Treatments today include ryhydration, IV fluids, and antibiotics. Since there wasn't a known treatment back then the body count of deaths were pretty shocking.
