Tashua School Weekly Updates
Mrs. Neumeyer, Principal
June 11, 2021
Dear Tashua Families,
It has been another busy week at Tashua School! The students have been doing an amazing job continuing to stay positive and focused. Throughout the week, they have been reflecting on their learning and talking about goals for next year. As a staff, we have been doing the same. We have also been working to finalize class placements and teaching assignments.
Next year, we will have two literacy consultants and a full-time math specialist! At this time, I am excited to share our preliminary staff assignments for next year!
The literacy consultant who will be joining Tashua next year is Laura Hatstat. Laura is currently a third grade teacher at Middlebrook School. Laura has taught many of the elementary grade levels. She has also completed the Teachers College training for reading and writing in both the upper and lower grades. Further, she has served on the Elementary Curriculum Council, Literacy Council and has been involved in many summers of literacy curriculum writing. Laura is excited to be joining our Tashua family. I know you will join me in welcoming her to our school community!
Sangeeta Gidwani will be our full-time math specialist next year! I know we have all appreciated her high-level of engagement this year as she has worked tirelessly to support our staff, students and parents during the two days of the week that she has been with us. I am thrilled we will have her full-time next year! It will be amazing to have her support us as we work to roll-out new curriculum initiatives.

End of Year Technology Collection
As the school year is coming to a close, Chromebooks and chargers have started to be collected and will continue through the last day of school, according to classroom needs. Grades K-2 will be returning through June 15th, Grade 3 will be returning by June 16th, and Grade 4 will be returning by June 17th. Grade 4 students should return the device, the charger, and the case.
Our Grade 5 students will take their devices with them over the summer and on to middle school. If your child is not returning to Trumbull Public Schools, please have your child return the device and charger on the last day of school. Total Remote Learners may bring the device and charger to school after 1:30 on June 18th or during the week of June 21-25 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Chromebooks may still be repaired for 5th graders, as they will take their device home at the end of the school year.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, suggestions or good news to share.
