Avenue of the Arts Grades 1 & 4

Mr. Bolkus directed his last Avenue of the Arts:
  • 1st graders presented a jungle theme
  • 4th grade Orchestra performed their first concert and
  • all 4th graders sang traditional and classic songs and played their flutes.
After the concert, everybody joined in the "Bolkus Shuffle" as homage to a beloved music teacher.

Liana's Legacy

Mark your calendars for our annual citizenship event, Liana’s Legacy on
Friday, June 3 from 5:30 – 8:30 PM.

We hope you can join us for food and games at this family fun night.

In honor of Liana's Legacy's 15th anniversary, we will focus on pediatric oncology with the goal of sending a local family to Camp Sunshine – a camp for critically ill children and their families. Additional proceeds will be used to provide help for Doyle students in need.

Please help with this event….

In order to make this event a success, we are asking for volunteers to help us. If you are interested and able to help, there are many ways to get involved.

Volunteer to run a game, sell tickets or scoop water ice. Use this link: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/805044CAEAF2CA46-lianas to sign up for a specific time to help with the games or ticket sales.

If you would like more details about this event or if you would like to provide additional help with the event, please contact

Dress Code

With the warm weather approaching, you may want to remind your children that some summer outfits are not appropriate for school. All students are expected to demonstrate acceptable taste in their dress habits. Students are asked to avoid extreme short pants, tops with exposed mid-drifts, and any t-shirts with offensive or tobacco/alcohol-related images. Some hot weather outfits are appropriate for a 5 year-old child, but not appropriate for a more mature 12 or 13 year old student.
The following are guidelines for warm weather apparel for all students:
  1. All clothes should be clean, neat and in good taste
  2. Sandals or beach footwear are not appropriate for school
  3. Biking shorts are not permitted
  4. Halter and crop tops for girls are not permitted
  5. Students may not wear destructive clothing or footwear, i.e. rivets, cleats, ornamental belts, etc.
  6. Indecent and unsavory slogans, expressions, etc. are not to be worn on clothing
  7. Any attire the administration considers to interfere with quality of education shall not be permitted.
Adherence to proper dress standards will help to insure an appropriate school image for our students and a learning environment free of unnecessary distraction. Thank you for your cooperation on this issue.
