Spooky Season

October is here! We are looking out the windows at beautiful red and orange leaves, everything you can buy is pumpkin spice, and the internet is obsessed with a 12 ft skeleton from Home Depot. (Please send pics of your Halloween decorations when you get them up, especially if you have this very good, very large skeletal boy.)

We are doing our best to bring you the spirit of the spooky season with our virtual programs this month - read on for more!

Upcoming Calendar Raffle

The library's Board of Trustees is holding a huge raffle in November! Every day from November 1-30, you have a chance to win a prize. Tickets are on sale now. Each ticket costs $10 and enters you into the daily prize drawings. All proceeds benefit the library.

Thursday, Oct. 15th, 4pm

This is an online event.

Join Miss Alyce on Board Game Arena to play Saboteur, a card game where you play as dwarves, digging tunnels to get gold... but one of you is a traitor.

Animal Crossing Hangout

If you play Animal Crossing, between 6 and 9 pm on Saturday October 17, you can come visit our reference librarian's island, Almarato.

The island is decorated like Katherine's dream library. Come check it out, catch some fish and bugs, go diving, buy an extra candy to prep for Halloween. If you have ever wanted to whack a librarian on the head with a bug-catching net, this is your chance!

Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram for a Dodo code if you want to come play!

Library Information

The library building is officially open again, for patrons who want to browse and borrow items from our shelves. Things are a little different, but you are welcome as long as you wear your mask.

Borrowing - answers to frequently asked questions

After our closure, services have been slowly expanding over the past several months. Here is where things currently stand:

  • There are no fines, statewide, until November 22.
  • A maximum of 20 books can be requested at a time.
  • Please remember to be patient when you're waiting for requested books. Delivery times are considerably slower than pre-covid.
  • We quarantine books for 24 hours after they are returned. During that time, they will still appear to be on your card, but when the books are checked in, we tell the system the date that they were returned.

Computer Use

Computers are available but use is limited. We have 3 stations available, and there is a 30 minute limit per patron. Extensions can be given by staff.

Curbside Pickup

We are still offering curbside pickup of library materials. You can schedule a pickup over the phone, and we will put your order in a brown paper bag in the lobby. You can pick up any time we're open.

No Book Donations

We usually accept donations of used books, but we cannot at this time.
