Thank You!

Cypress Elementary ROCKS!!! Together, we collected well over 500 books to send to central Kenya. These books will fill the very first shelves of the beautiful new library at Muthuini Primary School, home to over 250 children from Kindergarten to 8th grade! We do still have a few books trickling in, so feel free to send yours in if you haven't already. It was our honor to partner with The Nobelity Project on this.

My unending gratitude goes out to you, parents, for supporting our efforts on this important and meaningful project. We could not have accomplished what we did without your help and support. You are AMAZING parents and I count you in my blessings each and every day! With my whole heart, I thank you!

Family Fit Night

Family Fit Night is tomorrow, March 31st! Join Cypress PTA, campus staff and Cypress families at Anderson Mill Park next to Cypress Elementary from 5:30pm-7:30pm. It is a night of FUN where kids and adults can move from activity to activity, trying out different sports and exercise. There will also be a fun run for each grade level and RAFFLE prizes for completing stations. Come enjoy this relaxing, fun and FREE event!

7 Habits Flash

For the month of April, we will be focusing on Habit 6: Synergize. Some discussion questions for this first week include: What does it mean to synergize? Would synergizing be better if everyone had the same personality, looks, talents, and interests? To reinforce, have a talk with your children at the dinner table about the ways you, as a family, synergize with one another.

Parent Input Forms for the 2017 - 2018 School Year

It is hard to believe, but it is time to begin preparing for the upcoming new school year. With that said, we always appreciate and value your partnership and input. In order to provide information about your child that could be helpful in the decision making process, please complete the form at the following link.

The deadline for submitting this form is the end of the school day on Friday, April 7, 2017.

Dress Code Reminders

Spring is here! It is starting to warm up and it is the season for shorts, sandals and tank tops, so we thought this would be a good time to review Leander ISD’s student dress code with you all.

Here is the full link for you to review : This can also be found on the district website under the Parents/Students tab.

Below, are a couple of specific reminders that apply to some of the things we have been noticing here at Cypress:

· For safety reasons, tennis shoes (rubber sole, closed toe, and heel) are to be worn during Physical Education (P.E.). Shoes such as flip flops, boots, Crocs, sandals, etc. are not permitted during P.E.

· Shorts, skirts, and skorts must be at finger-tip or mid-thigh length as measured with relaxed shoulders. This is especially important to check ahead of time as shorts/skirts from last year quite certainly may be too short.

· No strapless tops, spaghetti-strap tops, backless, halters, large armholes, or off-the-shoulder tops.

· No low necklines (which reveal cleavage or chest area).

· Tops must meet the beltline, and must not reveal undergarments or skin.

· Hats, caps, sweatbands, scarves, bandanas, doo-rags, hoods, and other headgear shall not be worn inside campus buildings without administrative approval.

Please let us know should you have any questions. Thank you so much for helping ensure your child is wearing attire that meets Leander ISD’s dress code each day!
