$10,000 Pyramid

Big Idea:
This game is a way for students to review vocabulary, key terms, concepts, dates, and formulas within a unit and make connections between units.
Directions:
- Have students (or as a teacher) choose key words, topics, concepts, etc. from the unit and fill in the pyramid with the key ideas.
- Pair up students, making one student Partner A and one be Partner B, and have them sit back to back.
- Start with Partner A giving clues to get Partner B to guess the key ideas. The clues cannot include the words themselves or parts of the words.
- Now switch partners and switch pyramids!

- Practicing vocabulary
- Learning new vocabulary
- Review
- Encourage language development

Variations:
Categories: Give students categories to create the words for their pyramids.
Groups: Pair students against another pair, or groups of three or four.
Timed: Set a timer to up the competition level.
Content Ideas:
Math: Use formulas, equations, answers to equations, vocabulary
Language Arts: Vocabulary, grammar, characters from a Novel.
Science: Vocabulary, big ideas, formulas.
Social Studies: States, countries, vocabulary.
