NHCS AIG Survey
The Writing Team is starting to revise and make improvements to our NHCS AIG Plan for the 2019-2022 plan cycle. A valuable tool for us to use in this process is input from our stakeholders. I am including a link to the parent survey. Please take a few moments to complete the AIG Parent Survey.
The surveys can be completed from Nov 29th - Dec 7th. Thank you for your help in collecting this important feedback.

A Note from Mrs. Shook
I recently spoke to a class about the importance of using your planner and several students told me that they don't need one. I know that I am "old school" and still prefer my paper planner but it is what works for me. I know there are people who use digital ones, send themselves texts, etc. The reality is that we can't always remember everything that we have to do. It's important that we encourage kids to write things down because their work load will continue to increase and they will have more responsibilities as they grow up. Plus this helps prevent moms and dads from heading to the store late at night to buy items for a project!
I encourage you to take a few minutes one day and sit with your child to look at his/her planner. Help create a plan for how all of the homework will get done and balanced out with the activities of the week. Talk about the system that works for you or your spouse. Show them that adults have to create systems to manage it all too. This will help prevent your child from being overwhelmed by all he/she has to do.
On a personal note, thank you for supporting Murray's gifted program. I enjoy working with your children, getting to know your families, collaborating with their teachers and being a part of Murray. It's a very unique school that has a lot to offer. I hope you and your family enjoy the holiday season!
