Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! We hope you had a safe and restful break. Here are just a few reminders for parents of students in the responsive plan as we begin 2nd semester.


  • If you are dropping your student off in the morning on the S. Elm lot, please remember to pull all the way up to where I am standing. We need to fit as many cars in the parent line as possible. When you stop in the middle of the line, it creates a back up on Ambrose and possibly Elm. Thank you for your help with this.
  • If you drop your student off after 8:25 am, then your student is late to school. We lock the Elm doors at 8:25 am because at that point, class has started. If your student is late to school, please drive around to the circle drive and have your student enter through the Cafeteria entrance. A staff member will meet your student there and make sure he or she checks in at the main office.

Picture Retake Day! - January 20

Picture Retake Day will be January 20, 2021 during the school day for virtual students. If your student is in the virtual plan, then we will offer time after school again for your student's picture to be retaken. That plan will be released to virtual parents next week.

Construction!

Our construction project is moving along very well! Today, I would like to celebrate that they are now adding brick to the new gym! It is truly amazing to see this project unfold everyday. Thank you, construction workers!

Materials Pick Up for Virtual Students

PLEASE SKIP THIS SECTION IF YOUR STUDENT IS IN THE RESPONSIVE PROGRAM.


Because of the cold temperatures and lack of daylight, materials pick up will be organized differently than it was during first semester. We will offer several dates and times for materials to be picked up for virtual students. Parents of virtual students will sign up for a date and time to pick up materials. The materials to be distributed and remaining dates and times are listed below. Please review this information prior to making your appointment.


Materials to be picked up

  • Math 7 textbooks

  • Math 8 textbooks

  • FACS supplies

  • Art supplies

  • 7 Red supplies


*All virtual students enrolled in Math 7 or Math 8 will need to pick up their math textbook.

When you arrive to pick up your student’s materials, please drive around to the back of the school and park in the circle drive near the Cafeteria entrance. Then, get out of your vehicle and walk to the Cafeteria entrance doors. Tell us your student's name and then we will hand you the materials. After receiving the materials, you are all set to go!


Click HERE to sign up for a time to pick up your virtual student’s materials. If you are picking up materials for more than one student, please complete one form per student. Please do not fill out the form multiple times for one student.

Attendance Update

We have launched a new process for notifying parents about absences. Our system will send an email notification to parents twice per day (11:30 am and 3:30 pm) if your student is marked absent throughout the day. You will not receive an email if the absence is verified. We are also working with teachers to ensure that attendance is marked quickly and accurately in order to minimize notifications being sent by mistake.

SIS and Canvas

This is a quick reminder for parents to please remember to check SIS for grades. SIS is our live and final gradebook. If your student moved from virtual to responsive or from responsive to virtual, the Canvas pages might show that the student has missing assignments from semester 1. If that message shows up on your students' Canvas page, it should be disregarded.

Free Breakfast and Lunch for All WGSD Students

All Webster Groves School District students – whether in the Responsive Learning Plan or the Virtual Program -- continue to have access to FREE breakfast and FREE lunch Monday -Friday.

Meals are available for pick-up at Webster Groves High School and home delivery. Students who have opted for in person learning can choose their meal daily in the classroom.
