The Eagle’s Landing
February 11, 2022
Hi Ivy Families,
I want to thank you for your support and understanding this week. The change in guidelines created an opportunity for us all to see how far empathy and kindness can truly take us and unite us as a community. As parents and guardians, you are an important model for your children. Please continue to have conversations with your children about displaying a sense of care and understanding regarding a student’s choice, even if it's different than their own.
Our Ivy Staff has been tremendous in supporting all of our Ivy Eagles and will continue to foster a positive school community. Additionally, with your consistent support from home, our students will be able to navigate these conversations more confidently.
Thanks again for helping support our entire Ivy Community.
Be Well,
Scott

5 Essentials Survey
Illinois 5Essentials Survey | Now Open!
Student Survey (Grades 4-8 ONLY)
The Illinois 5Essentials Survey will be administered at your child’s school in the near future. For a copy of the questions, click here.
If you do not want your child to participate, fill out the information at the bottom of this form (linked here) and ask your child to return this sheet to their teacher.
Parent Survey
It’s that time of year again and we want your input! Please participate in the Illinois 5Essentials Parent Survey, as a part of the Illinois 5Essentials Survey administration. The survey responses will never be connected to the identity of you or your child as school reports will only present aggregated information of how parents responded as a whole.
In order for the survey report to be generated we need at least 20 percent of our parents to take the survey.
Please CLICK HERE to take the parent survey. It is open now through March 11.
If you have any questions about the survey, please contact 5Essentials Customer Support at 1-866-440-1874 or 5essentials@uchicago.edu.

OUTDOOR WINTER RECESS GUIDELINES
It is our goal here at Ivy Hill to get our students outside for recess as much as possible. Sometimes however, Mother Nature does not cooperate! Here are our guidelines for Winter Outdoor Recess:
- Students MUST wear snow pants, coat, boots, hat and gloves to be able to play in the snow.
- Students that do not have snow gear can play on the blacktop area and playground.
- Students may not throw snow or ice!
- Students will have Indoor Recess when temperatures are at or below 0 degrees with the wind chill.
Most families find it easiest to put all snow gear into a large, plastic shopping bag so that the kids can keep it all together and change when needed. Again, please put your child's name on all outer wear!
Please talk to you kids about our snow guidelines and make sure they have their snow gear each day!
