Aliamanu Middle School --- September 2022
A great start to the year
Dear AMS 'ohana,
I am so proud of our panthers! Our school year is off to a strong start as we work diligently to help students transition into their first "normal" school year since 2019.
We are committed to making Aliamanu Middle School a special place for students to thrive and learn and are excited to share all of the great things happening at AMS. Whether at our "Hot Topic" student/principal discussions, "Meet and Eats", SBG meetings, sporting events, or after school clubs, AMS staff and students are working together outside of the classroom to inspire and empower each other. This allows us to build relationships that make the learning we do inside the classroom richer and more accessible to all of our students.
As family members, we value your partnership in your student's education. As your student settles into their school routines, please help to encourage good study skills, self-advocacy, and a strong work ethic. In our second month of school, discussing with your child what they are learning in school and following their academic progress through Infinite Campus sets the expectation that you care about what and how they are learning and that you believe school is important. Challenge your student to exceed the status quo, go beyond the bare minimum, put themselves out there to learn new skills or make new friends, and take advantage of the many great opportunities here at AMS.
It is an honor to lead Aliamanu Middle School and to see our students begin to flourish academically and socially. Our staff will always work hard to ensure they are doing their best for our students. During this month's waiver day, we are excited to participate in learning walks work around the island--visiting schools and classrooms to witness and build upon best practices in teaching as we continue to strive to be the strongest teachers possible, because this is what our students deserve.
I look forward to the year to come and know that there is truly no limit to what our school can accomplish if we all commit and put in the effort to be a successful learning community.
Enjoy your long weekend, and go Panthers!

Free and reduced lunch and Federal Impact Aid forms
Aloha parents!
As we have returned to paid breakfasts and lunches, if you suspect that you may qualify for free or reduced lunch, we'd like to encourage you to fill out the registration online at ezmealapp.com. This simple process will tell you if you qualify and, if you do, may show you to be eligible for free bus transportation as well.
Additionally, the window to complete your Federal Impact Aid survey will begin soon. The completion of these forms allows AMS to access federal funds that benefit our school and students. Between September and December, you may fill out the Impact Aid survey online, through your student's Infinite Campus account. More information will be sent home soon regarding the exact date the survey opens. Should you have any questions about either of these forms, or anything else, please don't hesitate to reach out.
We may be reached at 808-421-4100 or via email.
Thank you,
Trent Horita
