NATIONAL MERIT FINALISTS
Congratulations to Katarina Fenner and Aryan Mathur, CHS Seniors, for being named National Merit Finalists and continue to be in the running to receive Merit Scholarship awards. Katarina and Aryan were named finalists based on their academic record, recommendations, a student essay, involvement in extracurricular activities, and scores on the PSAT/NMSQT.
AIM HIGH FLIGHT ACADEMY SELECTION
Ethan Wolford, CHS Sophomore and AF JROTC member, has been selected to attend the Aim High Flight Academy in Florida this summer. He is one of 72 students selected nationwide to participate in this 3-week, all expenses paid flight-training program. This was a very challenging selection process, and CHS is proud of Ethan’s success. Excellent work, Ethan!

Chandler Future Business Leaders of American (FBLA) competed in the virtual Spring Leadership Conference in everything from Business Ethics to Computer Programming. Congratulations to Aryan Mathur and Ivan Miller for taking 1st in Computer Problem Solving and Management Information Systems. Claire Adams took 3rd in Political Science. Congratulations, Wolves!

NHS APPLICATIONS
National Honor Society (NHS) applications will be handed out this week in English classes to all sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a 3.25 GPA and higher. Applications have been mailed home to eligible COA seniors.
Students who do not receive one, and believe they deserve consideration, should see Mrs. Taranec in room 116.
Completed applications are due to the front office no later than Monday, March 1 for seniors & Friday, March 5 for sophomores and juniors. Apply to be part of the most prestigious club on campus!

ROTARY SPEECH OPPORTUNITY
CHS is looking for a speaker to participate in the 2021 Rotary Speech Contest on April 20th. It’s a 5-7 minute original speech, and the awards and accolades are great, including $500 to the winner and $100 to runners-up. There is a good chance that the contest will be virtual this year. A CHS student was the last contest’s winner and we’d love to have back-to-back winners! See Mrs. Templeton by Friday, February 26th if you’re interested in auditioning on March 9th to represent Chandler High.

We know you have many questions about the graduation ceremonies but unfortunately, we will need to be closer to the date before we can finalize the details to share with you. We are investigating a number of different scenarios that will ultimately be decided on based on the status of the pandemic and the subsequent health guidelines provided by the CDC, Maricopa County and Chandler Unified School District at the time of graduation. Rest assured that as soon as we know what direction we will be taking, we will be letting you know.

C-GCC SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
High-achieving, recent high school students have the opportunity for a deeply enriching college experience in the Chandler-Gilbert Community College Honors Program. In addition, if you’re graduating high school with an unweighted GPA of at least 3.25, you can take advantage of the Presidents’ Honors Scholarship below. The scholarship pays for full-time tuition for up to 15 credit hours (plus the $15 registration fee) per semester for up to four consecutive semesters.
To be eligible for the Presidents’ Honors Scholarship, you must:
· Graduate from a high school in Maricopa County
· Have a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.25 or higher
· Start at CGCC within one year of high school graduation without attending another college in between (not including concurrent enrollment, dual enrollment, and summer session)
· Reside in Maricopa County while on scholarship
