PARENTS WE NEED YOUR FEEDBACK
CONCORD IS AWARDED A CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENT HEALTH CARE PLANNING GRANT
Concord Community Schools today announced grant funding from the state of Michigan to begin the process of determining if a school-based health center is a good fit for the school district.
The focus of the Child and Adolescent Health Center Program Planning Grant through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is to study a need for the delivery of health services to children and adolescents in geographic areas where it can be documented that mental and primary health care services that are accessible and acceptable to children and adolescents require enhancement, or do not currently exist.
The grant also requires the establishment of a Community Advisory Committee, made up of school staff, local parents of school-aged children or adolescents, school health representatives, and clinicians from the sponsoring provider.
Concord Community Schools will receive $100,000 in total: $75,000 to conduct local planning to determine the feasibility, community commitment, and documented need for implementing a health center or School Wellness Program, and $25,000 for sites that successfully complete planning grant objectives and are approved for renovation and equipment/supplies to start their program. The district has six months to meet the requirements of each.
Please see the flyer below for information on how to join the Planning Committee.

SENIOR NEED TO KNOWS
SENIOR PICTURE REQUIREMENTS
To seniors and their families,
As the yearbook advisor, I am writing to inform you of the requirements for the senior pictures and baby pictures in the yearbook and the senior slideshow for graduation. The yearbook staff would like one wallet size professional picture sent digitally by email or USB. We would prefer the pose to be that of a traditional head and shoulders shot without props, words or logos. Please inform the photography studio of these requirements. Many studios will provide them for FREE when you purchase your son/daughter’s senior pictures. The pictures must be sent to the school before April 15th .
I will be working with Mr. Couling, who is in charge of graduation and the senior slideshow, so you or your photographer can send the 300 dpi wallet size photo to brian.couling@concordschools.net. If you do not plan to have photos taken before then, photography students will be offering senior photos or as a last resort we can use the “school” photo as the official photo for the yearbook. We will also need a baby picture for the yearbook and senior slideshow. Digital copies can be emailed to Mr. Couling at the address above, or a physical image can be brought in to Mr. Couling to be scanned and uploaded.
If you have any questions about the yearbook, please email me at amy.kelly@concordschools.net.
Thank you,
Amy Kelly
Publications Advisor
