Distance Learning on Staff Vaccination Days
Dates for staff vaccination days: The Platte County Health Department has scheduled one day to provide Park Hill employees the first dose of the COVID vaccine. This will take place on Thursday, March 18, and then on Friday, April 9, employees will receive the second doses.
Distance Learning on vaccination days: To allow every teacher and support staff member to get their vaccine, we will have distance learning on the two vaccination days. Missouri gives us special clearance to go to distance learning for these pandemic-related issues. The state calls these AMI-x days, and they will not get added to the end of the school year.

Countdown to Kindergarten
Children who turn five on or before July 31 are eligible for kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year. If you have a child who will start kindergarten in Park Hill this August, we have a checklist for you to prepare for blast-off. If you have a neighbor with an incoming kindergarten student, please share this information. Beginning April 5, you can enroll your child in your assigned school. After you enroll, mark your calendar for the Kindergarten Kickoff event on May 6. Remember, the first day of school is August 23. Please check out our district website for more details.
Highlighting our Pack Point Winners
At Tiffany Ridge, we use PACK Points to celebrate students who are meeting our four core expectations- Be A Problem Solver, Act Resonsibly, Care for Everyone, Keep Safe. When staff see students doing these things, they are reinforced with verbal reinforcement and a "Pack Point".
Classroom teachers also have Pack Point Menus for students to select rewards of their choice in their classroom.
Calling ALL Parents!
Spring is just around the corner and that means it’s time to start teaching about CAREERS! Unfortunately, we can not have visitors in our school to tell us about their careers. I am looking for parents, friends, or family who are willing to record a short video telling about their career, the educational requirements, and some other general information. Ideally, we will have several volunteers from each Career Path, so students see a wide variety of career options. We will show the videos during April and May in the morning broadcast announcement and during counseling lessons. If you, or someone you know, would like to volunteer for this opportunity please contact me at the email below. I can set up a time to record with you (interview style) or accept pre-recorded videos.
Career Paths:
Arts & Communication (Creative Path)
Business Management & Technology (Business Path)
Natural Resources & Agriculture (Nature Path)
Human Services (Helping Path)
Industrial & Engineering Technology (Building & Fixing Path)
Health Services (Health Path)

How Can YOU Protect Your Child from Cyberbullying?
According to Stopbyllying.gov, “Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place over digital devices like cell phones, computers, and tablets. Cyberbullying can occur through SMS, Text, and apps, or online in social media, forums, or gaming where people can view, participate in, or share content. Cyberbullying includes sending, posting, or sharing negative, harmful, false, or mean content about someone else. It can include sharing personal or private information about someone else causing embarrassment or humiliation. Some cyberbullying crosses the line into unlawful or criminal behavior.”
The BEST way to prevent cyberbullying is to monitor all your child’s devices and all online presence. Set up clear guidelines for the privilege of deice usage and discuss expectations of online behavior. Require that you have access to their accounts and check them regularly. One easy way to do this is to have all devices in one place to charge overnight. This also prevents internet usage overnight, which many students admit to doing after parents go to sleep.
Look for warning signs that your child is either being cyberbullied or is cyberbullying others. These signs include an increase of device usage, strong emotional responses to what is happening on their device, hiding the screen or device when others are near, new social media accounts or deleting of accounts. If you find evidence of cyberbullying keep documentation, such as screen shots, and report it immediately to the app or social media platform. If there are personal threats, you can also report to your local police. If the cyberbullying occurs on a school provided device, report the incidents to the school via teacher and/or school counselor.
