Greetings Hughes Husky Choir Family
I am so thrilled to be starting the 2021-2022 school year! I can't wait to start working with my students and get them singing once again. I am also so pleased to see so many NEW names on my roster.
I have a ton of fun things planned for this year, and I am ready to get working! I hope the Husky Choir students are ready to work hard, sing, and have a great time!
This year's choir theme is "Venture". We are going to focus on finding joy in the journey.

Choir Handbook, Forms, and Fees
Choir Handbook The Choir Handbook lays out all the information about choir expectations, uniform, activity fee, voice lessons, and so much more. It's expected that families read through this information. The PDF of the handbook can be found here
Forms
I required that one form be filled out per student. This form includes a handbook acknowledgment, fee acknowledgment, and choir T-shirt size order. The digital version of the form can be found here
Choir Fee
This $40 fee pays for the choir t-shirt, sheet music, binder and supplies, as well as the accompanist and guest clinicians that help our choirs. We can now accept online payments! I can also accept cash or check (made out to HMS Choir.) If you are not able to pay the choir fee, please reach out to me! I can work with you to make sure your child can participate.

Introducing HMS' new Show Choir......
Ignite Auditions are August 26th
Do you like to sing AND dance? Do you want to sing more pop or rock style music? Do you want more amazing performance opportunities? Do you want to building lasting friendships with your peers?
Please consider auditioning for Ignite!
Audition Requirements:
-Student must be a 7th or 8th grade choir student.
-Each performer will be asked to sing 1 minute of an upbeat pop, rock or musical theatre song of their choice.
-Student will learn and perform a 1 minute easy dance combination.
Membership Requirements:
-Students who make the group will need to be available for rehearsals.
Rehearsals will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:50pm-5:30pm. (Student athletes can still participate)
-Extra performances throughout the year will be considered mandatory.
-A passing grade in all classes is required for students to leave school for performances.
Auditions will take place after school on August 26th. Audition sign-ups will be sent out soon.
Choir Council Applications
Choir Council is a group of 7th/8th grade choir students selected by application that will meet weekly after school to work in the choir room, plan recruitment events, plan choir socials and parties, celebrate choir student successes, and create a welcoming and positive atmosphere for all choir students.
I'm looking for helpful, positive, responsible, and hard-working huskies to join the Choir Council. Meetings/ Workdays will be after school on Mondays from 3:45pm-5:00pm.
