Sentence Writing Strategy Training
The Sentence Writing Strategy is a strategy for recognizing and writing 14 sentence patterns with four types of sentences: simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex. This course will include two sets of materials: Fundamentals of Sentence Writing and Proficiency of Sentence Writing. The Fundamentals program includes instruction and practice for the prerequisite skills students need to write complete simple sentences and to edit their writing. Proficiency of Sentence Writing teaches the
four types of sentences with the expectation of students meeting mastery and then generalizing their learning to other situations and classes when writing is required. Special education and general education language arts teachers (grades 3-12) are encouraged to attend.
Please contact Julie Meyer with questions.
