Union Weekly Staff Update
Volume 37- May 22, 2016
Our Mission
A Message from Jen
Field Day- Please see the letter and schedule from Jenny LeBlanc (emailed and given hard copy) about specifics for the day. Please remind students and parents about wearing gym shoes, applying sunscreen, and bringing a labled water bottle. The current forecast is 83 degrees and party cloudy, so we will have warm day!
Talent Show- The 4th grade performers did an excellent job Friday night. They are very excited to perform for their peers this week. All are invited to attend the school performance in the gym beginning at 9:30 on Thursday morning (we will start calling performers down around 9:10, classes around 9:20). Plan for the show to last approximately 1 hour. We will be seated the same way that we were for the Irish Dancers.
Last Day Dismissal- As is tradition, we will have our younger students line the walk way to wish our fourth graders well as they head out to the buses. Similar to last year, there will be chalk lines on the sidewalk. As long as the weather cooperates, we will all be outside. Our drivers will likely do a victory lap in the lot as we wave farewell to our kiddos.
SFS Finalizations- As the week begins please note that you will have access to see your (in progress) finalization worksheet in SFS. This is simply the rubric portion of your overall evaluation. It does not yet include data from your SLOs, SWL, or in some cases IGM data. So, if you see a 2.9 and it catches you off guard, please don’t have a heart attack and remember that your score will only go up as the other data is added in when it is available. Even if you are in a position where you have submitted all of your SLO data, Erin and I plan to make this accessible all at one time so we don’t skip over anyone. I hope that makes sense. Please check with us if you have questions.
Safety Drills- We will have both a lockdown drill and fire drill this week to ensure that we comply with all state requirements. Please see Erin's 5/18 email or Erin/Jen live with any questions.
Attire this week- With Field Day and other active events occurring throughout the week, you are welcome to dress in appropriate casual dress as we close out the year.
