60 SECONDS WITH THE SUPERINTENDENT
Students at the high school have many different course choices throughout their four years. Many take advantage of the opportunities offered in World Languages - French, German, and Spanish. Click HERE for this week’s episode as we visit with teachers and students involved in World Languages and the advantages these classes provide when learning a second language.
2018-19 KINDERGARTEN INFO MEETING + DEPOSITS ACCEPTED FOR FULL DAY KINDERGARTEN (JAN. 17)
Attention parents of incoming 2018-2019 kindergarten students - please mark your calendar for an informational meeting on Wednesday, January 17 at Muraski Elementary School. Beginning at 5:00pm, those interested in reserving a spot for full day kindergarten will have the opportunity to submit an initial deposit ($300). At 6:30pm, a presentation and Q&A session will be held detailing information about both half day and full day options for kindergarten students in our District. According to State law and District policy, any child who becomes five years old on or before August 1, 2018 is eligible for admission into the Strongsville School District’s Kindergarten Program.
MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MRS. TERRI HARBART, ART TEACHER AT MURASKI
Mrs. Terri Harbart has been teaching in Strongsville Schools for 29 years, having taught at every level in our District. Mrs. Harbart earned both her undergraduate and Master’s degree from Baldwin Wallace University and currently teaches in the same school as her first student teaching assignment - Muraski Elementary.
Mrs. Harbart says of her students, “One top joy each day is watching them grow and learn, not only as artists, but as genuine, caring, and kind human beings.”
She is a proud graduate of Strongsville High School, and has been a very involved school and community member. Having volunteered on the committee for the recent bond issue, which resulted in a new state-of-the-art middle school and renovations to the high school, Mrs. Harbart has always “dreamed big” for the Strongsville students and community. “It is important that all of our students feel cared about, have a special sense of family belonging, and that we all do our best to ensure that our students are a part of something in Strongsville to be very proud of!”
Thank you Mrs. Harbart for continuing to “dream big” for our students and helping them grow creatively in your classroom!
STUDENT FEES DUE BY DECEMBER 20TH
PLEASE NOTE: Current year fees not paid by December 20th will result in the interruption to your PASS account, which allows access to student grades and report cards. The PASS system is an excellent resource to keep you informed by providing real-time access to your child’s grades and progress. Please keep in mind that unpaid fees accumulate yearly. Accumulation of these fees may make payment difficult as your child advances. All fees must be paid prior to your student receiving report cards, transcripts, parking permits, as well as participation in extracurricular activities (such as: dances, field trips, athletic competitions and/or any other District sponsored activities) and commencement for graduating seniors. Fees can be paid on-line through the District website’s PayForIt link or by sending a check to the building your child currently attends. All check payments must be made payable to Strongsville City Schools.
