January 14, 2024
A MESSAGE FROM BRIAN FORSHEE, CFHS PRINCIPAL
Tomorrow is a school holiday to honor the great Martin Luther King Jr's work. We will see you back on Tuesday if the weather cooperates. The District is actively monitoring the anticipated weather reports for this week. We will send communication through Skylert along with our district website.
School Board Recognition Month
I wanted to thank everyone involved in the 2024 Course Selection Night. We had one of our largest number of attendees to date. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday the Fulshear Charger Theatre Program presents Mamma Mia! We look forward to seeing everyone at the performances.
Students please make sure you are reading the weekly newsletter. The spring semester is loaded with a lot of deadlines. (Graduation Portraits, Prom, etc).
Congratulations to CFHS TMEA All State Band Qualifiers.
I am including a few items from the previous newsletter as a reminder for returning students along with our newly enrolled students this semester. (Bell Schedule, Tardy Policy, Dress Code, etc)

TMEA All State Band Qualifiers
Joshua Murrell qualified on Trumpet and this will be his SECOND time as an All Stater!
Qualifying for the TMEA 5A All State Band is a distinct honor. For young musicians it is the crowning achievement for musicians in Texas placing a student in the top 1% of all Texas high school musicians. The CHARGER BAND has TWO students who qualified for the TMEA All State Band. This a huge honor and congratulations to these outstanding musicians! Both Josh and Noah will represent Fulshear High School at the TMEA Convention/Concert in San Antonio in February.

REMINDER: Student Safety To Prevent Unauthorized Entry (December 11th Email)
Dear CFHS Charger Families,
As your principal, I remain committed to the safety and security of our campus and would like to request your cooperation and support with our students, which includes some important reminders about our visitor check-in process and the consequences for failing to adhere to these procedures.
It’s important to understand that the visitor check-in process is in place to safeguard the well-being of everyone within our school community. Allowing unauthorized individuals into the school or using the wrong entrance poses a potential risk to the safety of our students and staff. All campus visitors must check in at the campus front office. Throughout the building, all students and staff members must have their badge visible and should also use primary entrances.
If a student violates the visitor check-in process and allows individuals to enter the campus through side doors and back doors, they will face the consequences. Beginning on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, any student permitting individuals into the school without proper check-in or through the wrong door will face disciplinary consequences, which will result in a three-day out-of-school suspension and/or other measures deemed necessary by campus administration.
To maintain a safe and secure learning environment for all, we kindly request your support in reinforcing these security measures with your students. Please contact your student’s Assistant Principal if you have any questions or concerns. We appreciate your partnership in upholding our safety standards. Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.

College and Career Center Updates
Changes to the Service Cord Guidelines – Starting 12/16/2023
The LCISD Service Cord Guidelines have been updated and will go into effect on 12/16/23. Students must now attend a volunteer service function to receive hours. Moving forward, creating cards, decorations, or baked goods and donating those items to an organization will not be accepted as hours towards Service Cord. We are no longer accepting these types of hours due to organizations within our community having more volunteer opportunities since the COVID-19 pandemic stipulations have been lifted.
www.lcisd.org/docs/default-source/students-parents-documents/choices/service-cord.pdf?sfvrsn=4
The next Service Cord deadline will be April 15th for seniors and May 1st for 9th – 11th graders. Students are not required to participate in the Service Cord.
