Room 10 News

Mrs. Yeagle's Class

Happy New Year!

I hope you and your families had a wonderful break and enjoyed some quality time together.

In room 10, we have been working hard on wrapping up odds and ends of Second Quarter. This week students are finishing their Expert Topic published writing pieces as well as their Real World Experience in Math. Next week, the following Assessments will take place:

Monday - No School MLK Day

Tuesday - Math Unit 2 Assessment

Wednesday - Star Math Test

Wednesday and Thursday - Informational Writing Assessment

Thursday - Afternoon P-T Conferences

Friday - Math Fact Fluency Assessment

Friday, Jan. 23 - TEAM Tot celebration - P.J. Day and Treat!

Please remind your child to do their best on these end of quarter assessments. It has been a cold winter thus far and cabin fever is beginning. Encourage your child to move and exercise whenever possible. Just Dance videos are a great form of exercise during these cold winter months!

We will be taking a break from our regular Spelling Routine. We will be doing spelling and word work using other resources that focus on Prefixes and Suffixes. Students will not complete Weekly Spelling Activities, however they may have other homework assignments related to what we have learned in school to practice their spelling and word work.

Maternity Leave:

My last day will be Friday, January 23. I plan to return to work after Spring Break. Mrs. Weisner will be helping by subbing the week of January 26. Then, my long-term sub, Mrs. Skinner (no relation to District Superintendent Mrs. Skinner), will take over for eight weeks. Mrs. Skinner is prepared to do everything she can to make this a smooth transition for the students of Room 10. Please feel free to reach out to her if you have questions or concerns during my leave. Her contact information will be shared with you when she takes over.

Optional P-T Conference:

For those of you that requested to meet with me for a P-T conference, I sent a time slot preference form home with your child. With that information, I made a schedule that will come home on Tuesday.
