As adults, one of the best things we can do to build resilience in our children is to allow them to experience natural consequences for their actions. They provide powerful learning experiences. Telling children that it’s not their fault when it is, keeps them from learning how to make different choices in the future. Show support when mistakes are made by saying “It will be okay. Next time you’ll know exactly what to do.” It’s all about empowering them to learn, grow, and become stronger.

It’s that time of year when sniffles, coughs and sneezing are going around. We have all been reminded to wash our hands and get plenty of sleep, but did you know studies show that reading may improve your health? Perhaps most obvious is the link between reading and a healthy brain. Reading increases brain connectivity which not only helps you think and reason but is also connected to body movement. Doctors recommend reading as part of your sleep routine. Reading can help you let go of the anxieties and pressures of the day which may enable you to get to sleep more quickly and also sleep more restfully. Other studies show 30 minutes of reading may help with depression, lower blood pressure and heart rate. Those who read are shown in some studies to live 2 years longer than nonreaders! So take care of yourself...don’t forget your vitamins and a good book!

We will be selling yearbooks until Friday May 19th 2023 on your MyDSD account.

After May 19th they will no longer be on MyDSD for purchase.

If there are any left after May 19th 2023, I will let you know so that you can come in that last week of school to purchase.
