BCS 2Hour Delay Tomorrow, Sept. 2nd
Sept. 1: All Schools, PreK-12, Open on 2 Hour Delay Tomorrow
BCS Community:
The BCS transportation team has been in contact with the local highway department who are reporting fallen trees as well as standing water in areas of our district. Highway crews along with the power company will be working overnight to identify these areas of concern and remove trees where needed. With forecasted winds, combined with 3.5-5 inches of rain we have received at this time, there is a possibility for spotty or widespread power outages or flooded roads.
Berkeley County Schools, PreK-12, will open on a 2-hour delay tomorrow, Thursday, September 2, 2021.
The safety of our students and staff is always our priority. A 2-hour delay will provide additional daylight hours for our team to evaluate and respond to road and weather conditions.
Thank you to our students, families and staff for your outstanding cooperation and teamwork in implementing an early dismissal today. We hope this advance notice for tomorrow will assist you and your family in planning for an instructional day with a delayed start.
Stay safe. Be well.
Patrick K. Murphy, Ed.D., Superintendent of Schools
