Gratz Brown News
September 2nd, 2016
A dose from Mrs. Doss
We have wrapped up our first few weeks of the 2016-17 school year. I am once again amazed by all of the hard work seen daily in our hallways and classrooms at GBE. We have dedicated staff and hard working students.
I have been as equally pleased to see our parents at Open House and our 1st Annual Curriculum Night! We are working diligently this year to increase our opportunities for parents to become involved and an active partner in their child's education.
Ways that we are planning to increase these opportunities are nights such as Curriculum Night, and our upcoming Grandparent's Lunches on the week of September 12th.
Another way we have worked to develop a parent friendly area is the changes we have made in our school square. We have revamped the bulletin board and spartan table area into a parent information center. Next time you are in please check this area out and read up on all GBE has to offer you and your students.
We have a space for news from our Counselor, Resource Coordinator for our Elementary Schools, PTO and the building happenings!
Also check out our Box Top Heros Bulletin Board and Growth Mindset Info we are sharing with our students this school year.
We urge you to continue to check out our newsletters for up to date information and events that are for you and your students.
GBE what a great place to be!

Moberly Public Schools Mission Statement:
Title 1 News:
GBE is a School-Wide Title I School. Title I is a federally funded program designed to help students reach academic success. Many students will spend 30-40 minutes with a Title I Interventionist to increase their reading skills. Title I teachers for Gratz Brown are; Mrs. Rivera, Mrs. Thompson, and Mrs. Mathis. If your child visits the Title I teachers, you will be notified with a letter. This letter will make you aware if your child will be receiving these services or not. It is not a permission form for Title. It is just to verify that you have read the information and are aware of this service. This is something that was unclear and we wanted to make sure everyone was aware of this year. If you have any questions always feel free to call and talk to one of our Title Teachers at 660-269-2694.
Character Trait/Terrific Kid for August/September
Mrs. David, our Counselor, will be in classrooms educating our students on this trait. It will also be our focus for our Terrific Kid award at the Spirit Assembly at the end of the month.
GBE PTO Back to School Bash
The vendors are an option for meals, but are not covered by the PTO or school. These are the patron's responsibility. More information will follow from our PTO prior to the event.
Thank you for helping make GBE a great place to be!!
