PTC News
Please note that the next PTC meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday, November 14th, at 6:30pm in the Idea Lab. All are welcome to attend!
Inside the Idea Lab with Mrs. Stephens
This week during Idea Lab time all grades finished reading the nominated picture books for the 2018 Buckeye Children’s Book Awards. We read They All Saw a Cat, The Princess and the Warrior, and Malala’s Magic Pencil. Each student cast their ballot (just like parents did earlier this week) for their favorite book in the K-2nd grade and/or 3rd-5th grade categories. Mrs. Stephens will tally the votes and submit them online to help determine Ohio’s next recipient of the Buckeye Children’s Book Award!
In Kindergarten, we welcomed 8th graders from Mayfield Middle School who came to help us on their annual Day of Service. Each kindergartener was assigned an 8th grade buddy who helped their kindergartener vote for the Buckeye Book Award, fill out an All About Me questionnaire, read a book, and color their Book Care Rules worksheet. Both the Kindergarteners and their 8th grade buddies had a great time getting to know each other. We would like to thank Mr. Stephens at MMS for coordinating the 8th grade Day of Service with our kindergarteners, as well as Mrs. Shaffer and Mr. Brogan for supervising and participating.

It's Cold Weather Time Again
Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately to participate in outdoor recess (i.e., coat, hat, gloves, boots, snow pants, etc.). As stated in the handbook: All students are expected to go outside unless the temperature is below 20 degrees or the wind chill
is below 10 degrees. Generally, if a child is able to ride the bus and attend school, (s)he should also be able to outside at recess. The only exceptions are: a physician’s request, a written parent request for the day the child returns to school following an illness, or a request by the teacher or Principal.
