We would love to see you at the Glocester libraries for books, movies, music, and our programs! For your safety, we continue to follow RIDOH guidelines. The libraries have removed the requirement for mask wearing for fully vaccinated people. Those not fully vaccinated are required to wear a mask including children, ages 2 years and up. Social distancing of 3 feet is to be followed by all patrons and staff. Also, please do not visit the library if you feel ill.
Mark Your Calendar!
The Glocester Scarecrow Festival begins Saturday, October 16, at 10 a.m. Organized by the Chepachet Grange and Glocester Libraries, this year’s festival will include the scarecrows decorated by local businesses and the community. The scarecrows will remain up along Main Street through October 30. Visit: https://www.glocesterscarecrowfestival.org/ for details on the festival, the scarecrow contest, the food, and entertainment!

Harmony Products Train Storytime
Date: Saturday, October 2, 10:30 a.m.
Location: Harmony Products, 474 Putnam Pike, Harmony RI
Age Level: Ages 2 to 6 years
A special story time will be held at Harmony Products. Caregivers and children ages 2 to 6 years are invited to join Miss Kat for a fun train story, sing locomotive songs, and an awesome train ride. Registration is required.
Note: Rain Date will be Saturday, October 23, 10:30 a.m.
Watch Me Rot Pumpkins!
Date: Monday, October 4 at 4:30 p.m.
Location: Glocester Manton Library
Age/Grade Level: Grades K-5
Carve a pumpkin and prepare a special pumpkin for the Children’s Room “Watch Me Rot” program. In time, it will sprout a fresh new pumpkin plant. Registration is required.
Graphic Novel Book Club
Date: Monday, October 4, 5 p.m.
Location: Harmony Library
Age/Grade Level: Grades 4-6
Youth in grades 4-6, join Miss Kat in reading graphic novels. From Sci-fi to Nonfiction, we’ll be sure to read a graphic novel that will suit everyone’s interest. Snacks and craft will be provided, just bring your library card. Registration is required.
Paws to Read
Date: Tuesday, October 5, 5:30 p.m.
Location: Glocester Manton Library
Age/Grade Level: Ages 5 and up
Do you like dogs? Do you like to read? Bring your favorite book and spend some time reading to one of our friendly therapy dogs. Each child will be given a 15 minute reading slot. Please come with a book or come early to pick one out. Registration is required.

Age Level: All Ages
Each month, we will have a different art project in our Children's Room. Children are encouraged to use various materials to create an art piece that will be displayed. Each participant will be entered to win a prize at the end of each month. October features "Monster Mash" with Frankie - our monster! No registration required!
Tween/Teen Programs

Graveyard Rubbings
Date: Wednesday, October 13, 5 p.m.
Location: Acotes Hill Cemetery
Age/Grade Level: Children ages 8 and up
Learn some fun facts about cemeteries, gravestone symbols, and R.I. cemeteries. You will be provided all materials to rub an authentic gravestone impression. Registration is required.
Teen Spooky Wreath
Date: Monday, October 18, 5 p.m.
Location: Harmony Library
Age/Grade Level: Ages 11 and up
Join Miss Kat to make a wreath that will haunt your bedroom door. All supplies will be provided, just bring your Halloween spirit! Registration is required.
Adult Programs

Tuesday Matinees
Date: Tuesdays, October 5, 12, 19, and 26, 2 p.m.
Location: Glocester Manton Library
Newly released feature films will be shown in the Community Room. Light snacks will be offered. For a listing of the films please visit our website or call the library. Registration is not required.
Fearless Art
Date: Wednesdays, October 12 and 26, 2 p.m.
Location: Harmony Library
All skill levels are invited to share their passion for art with us! At this time, we are focusing on watercolors and botanical themes. All supplies are provided, but if you have brushes, please bring them. Registration required.
Date: Saturdays, October 16 through November 13, 10 a.m.
Location: Glocester Manton Library
Knit a winter hat with washable wool yarn. Beginners and knitters with experience are welcome to join this five week workshop. All materials will be supplied. Registration is required.
Medicare Options Workshop
Date: Monday, October 18, 6 p.m.
Location: Harmony Library
United Healthcare Medicare Solutions licensed sales representative, Nancy Mendizabal, will present current Medicare options, including the Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement and Prescription plans that are available. Come with your questions! Registration is required.
Book Talk and Signing with Debbie Tillinghast
Date: Tuesday, October 19, 6 p.m.

Join us for a book talk and signing by local author Debbie Tillinghast for Debbie’s new novel, A Dream Worth Keeping. This event is an excellent opportunity for aspiring authors to pose questions about everything from ideas for inspiration to tips on the publishing process. Duo Daemonologie
Date: Monday, October 25, 6 p.m.
Location: Harmony Library
Join us for a captivating program led by paranormal researchers Carl Johnson and James Annitto. With years of experience and hundreds of investigations under their belts, Carl and James will discuss some of their noteworthy cases with a special focus on demons.
THIS PROGRAM IS NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 16 YEARS OLD.
