Groovy in 4th
Mrs. Tweten's Class Room 606
Learning to the Max!
This week and next (3/10-3/21) we are on a hiatus from our traditional Language Arts Program to give us time for Trimester Assessments. In addition to this, I've altered the homework to assist us in learning more about missions. Our 'Biggest' and most memorable field trip this year will be to Mission San Juan Capistrano in May. More news to come home soon! Students will complete a mission report over the next 2 weeks with both at home and in class work. There will be no additional homework during that time, besides the report and continued daily reading. In math we are still working on fractions and will be doing so for the next 2 weeks. This will take us up to Spring Break and upon our return we'll be moving into Unit 5 Reading, Math- Measurement, Science-Rocks and Minerals, Writing-Argument, Informative/Explanatory, and Narrative, and in Computer Science we'll be continuing a variety of skills that include coding, digital citizenship, blogging, etc. It's sure to be a busy last 1/3 of the year!

WALKATHON THIS THURSDAY!
100% Participation is our goal :)
Many prizes are up for grabs from PTO for students participating in the Annual Reagan Walkathon! Our class goal is 100% participation and that means everyone must have a donation. If that happens I will provide an additional prize for the class. Please Note-I will be using the funds that go back to the classroom from PTO to purchase gift cards at Best Buy. I plan on purchasing some digital cameras for students to take pictures of daily happenings and post them to our class blog at Kidblog.org/tweten606. *FYI-No student faces will be put on our blog at anytime for safety reasons. Please support our classroom with ongoing tech goals to increase our 21st Century Skills. :)
