Rankin Elementary
Weekly Bulletin #23
Weekly Events!
Welcome Back to what looks like might be our only long week of the month for February. Our students have had three weeks of 3 or less days per week so this will be a long week for many of them if we have all 5 days! However, tomorrow again looks COLD! Hopefully we will return! :)
Tuesday: I will be out of the building in the morning from 8 - 10 for a meeting at the GISD. MERT drill @ 1:30.
Wednesday: Early/Late Start @ 8:20; Media Open
MERT Drill - Tuesday @ 1:30
We will be practicing our Medical Emergency Response Plan on Tuesday at 1:30 pm. Please take a minute to review the Medical Emergency Response Plan in the 2014-2015 Emergency Procedures (Bright green packet). We will have the district school nurse and an ambulance here for this training. This team is activated by a call on the PA for the "MERT team to _________ (the scene of the medical emergency). Please be aware that on the team is Eric Keskes. Should you hear the MERT team called and your class is in PE you would need to go to the gym to supervise your class as he will be reporting to the emergency. Also be aware that we will most likely put all or part of the building in "secure mode" to avoid any commotion and for the privacy of the student. This means you would remain in your room with your students continuing normal activities but lock door and keep all students in the classroom.
Teaching & Learning Visit
Dr. Tunnicliff will be visiting all the building again this year. He is scheduled to be at Rankin on Wednesday, March 11th from 9 to 4. He is planning something slightly different this year. He is planning two visits with this first visit to focus on Teaching and Learning. The second visit, the traditional "listening meetings", will occur later in the spring. Please mark your calendar for this day and I will share more at PLC.
Language Arts Fair
At this time I do not have plans to reschedule the Language Arts Fair. This week is busy with many other district events taking place and the following week is our Band Concert and Parent Teacher Conferences.
