TB Assessments

Our school nurse can do TB risk assessments for parent volunteers on Monday, 8/28, starting at 8:00 a.m. A translator will be available starting at 9:00 a.m. Parents should expect a short wait.

School Site Council

McKinley and PACS School Site Council is seeking new school-site council members! Our school-site council is a decision-making body that helps drive our school-site plan and goals and advises on how we spend our school resources. The school-site council is composed of 5 parents and 5 faculty members. Ideally, we would have a balanced school-site council composed of 1 parent from TK/K, 1-2 parents from 1st-3rd, 1-2 parents from 4th-6th, and 1 parent from 7th-8th. All parents are invited to attend the school-site council meetings, however, elected members will be responsible for voting at these school-site council meetings. Art Docent Volunteers

Are you interested in art? Do you like children? Combine the two in a unique volunteer opportunity! The Art Docent Program is looking for volunteer docents to teach art in elementary grade classrooms. Absolutely no art experience is necessary- all you need is a love of art and the desire to bring art into children’s lives. Volunteer time is flexible and training time is minimal.


We will be having a few MANDATORY Informational meetings for all interested people:

When: Wednesday, 9/13 @ 9 a.m OR 9/14 @ 9 a.m..

Where: McDowell Elementary (room A2) 421 South McDowell Blvd.

Jog-A-Thon Information

Greetings from PTA President Rebecca Hachmyer and your Jog-a-Thon Team! We are here to tell you that It is Jog-a-Thon time! Just 21 days until we are Racing the Rainbow, and we need to make EACH DAY this month count. We need every family to take part. Here’s how:


Create and share your child’s Pledgestar account. Here is how to do it:

  • Click on https://pledgestar.com/mckinleymustangs/

  • Click on Not Registered For This Event? and put in your information. If you have participated in a previous Jog-a-Thon the system may remember you.

  • Click on Add a Runner and input your child’s information. If you have more than one child at McKinley add additional runners as needed.

  • Select a photo to personalize your pledge request-- and to share out those sweet faces!

  • Add the email addresses of family and close friends so they get the pledge request directly. Import from your address book or click on Add a Family or Friend.

  • Once you add at least one email address, you will see Share on Social Media and Other Ways pop up.

  • Copy the Link to share the personal pledge request on Facebook etc. You can also download a premade flier to mail to the folks in your family who prefer a hard copy. Every dollar we raise this month will set us up for success this school year and will allow PTA to bring more learning opportunities, supports, and events to our school!
