Character Day: October 31
On the 31st, the Leadership team will read a book, related to their costume, to each class. Students will have an opportunity to buddy read their stories with other ACS students. And, later in the day, we are hopeful to have a small Fall Festival! Feel free to put on your costume and join us for the fun, starting at 2 pm!
Not able to make it, but you still want to support the event?
- We are in need of 107 small pumpkins (yes, a big ask, but maybe there is a Boy Scout troop somewhere who would love to donate them or even give us a discount)!
- Instead of carving, we want to "bedazzle" our pumpkins, so, we would love any craft materials you have (googly eyes especially).
- Know a face painter? That could be something new and exciting for the little ones!
Reach out to Ashley at 720-448-7589, if you're interested in contributing!
SAFETY update
To ensure that we are keeping everyone safe, moving forward, the front door to the main space and Middle School area will be locked at all times. Because we aren't in our permanent space, we are not able to install the hardware that allows us to buzz people in; therefore, someone in the front space will let you in or (in rare cases that someone isn't in the space), you will call the number on the door to be let in.
We know this is an additional step, that could feel like a lot; however, this will allow us to make sure everyone is kept safe.
International Festival
Our first Community Dinner was such a hit, we are hosting another this month on Friday, November 22 from 5:30-7:30 pm. At this event we will celebrate the various countries and
cultures represented within our school! For more information, see Mrs. Williams, one of our Kindergarten teachers, who will be leading the charge!
Looking for ways to volunteer? Mrs. Williams needs help:
- Prepping Materials
- Set Up or Clean Up
- Cooking/Donating Food
- Bringing Clothes/Artifacts
Look for a notice that will come home tomorrow!
Community Committee Meeting: October 29
Tardy or Absent?
In case of a tardy, please TEXT 720-621-4514 with the student's name, grade level, and the reason for the tardy. No one will respond to this message, but please know it was received.
In case of an absence, please EMAIL info@auroracommunityk8.org; please share the student's name, grade level, date of the absence, and reason for the absence.
Family-Teacher Conferences
The first trimester ends on Friday, November 15, so you will have the opportunity to sign up for times for Family-Teacher conferences, to discuss your child(ren)'s progress!
- Middle School conferences will be held the week of November 4-8. This is slightly earlier than the trimester ends, so that students can get in any missing assignments, before final grades!
- Elementary School conferences will be held November 18-22.
Look for a sign up Genius in the next week!
Intercession
We will be closing out the theme: Identity & Character and beginning the theme: Human Rights! If you know someone (or if you, yourself) want to share your expertise or talent with students during these 5 days, please reach out to Meredith at mstolte@auroracommunityk8.org.
Our first Intercession is November 20-26!
