PTO Events/News
The next PTO meeting is Monday, May 21. The PTO is still looking to fill some board positions. Please contact Mishi Palinkas at mishi.palinkas@gmail.com for more information. Be looking in your email for more descriptions of positions needing filling, but here is a snapshot:
- President - We are looking for a creative problem-solver who is comfortable delegating and who can help us focus on the agenda.
- Vice President - If you want to get more involved, but not ready to take the lead role, this is the job for you!
- Secretary - If you are the kind of person who documents everything from your toddler's steps to how many steps you took, this is the perfect role for you.
- Vice President of Fundraising - Can you coordinate dining out nights? Recruit helpers for events? This one is for you!
Attention to 5th grade students
It’s not too early to schedule your physical for the 2018-2019 school year. ALL 6th grade students must have a current physical with immunizations up to date in order to receive a schedule and start middle school in the fall.

DHS Smart Cookie Sale
The Life Skills Transition class will once again be coming to schools to sell fresh cookies. There is one cookie in a bag and it sells for .50. The cookies come in chocolate chip and M&M. The primary focus of the Transition program is to serve as a bridge to adult living. We teach the students the skills they will need to live as independently as possible and be contributing members of their communities. The cookie business provides an opportunity to practice both vocational and social skills in a real life setting. The proceeds from our sales go towards buying groceries to use for weekly cooking lessons and allow us to go to different places to learn how to navigate and access the community. We appreciate all of the support that we have been given and we look forward to coming!
Cookies for Sale at Banner on Friday, May 4 at 1:30. Cost will be $.50 for 1 large cookie, chocolate chip or M&M.

Volunteering! We need you, but....
Parents: If you would like to volunteer with field trips, library, classroom parties at the Dunlap schools, you will need to complete the online application on the Dunlap District website. After completing, the District Office will contact you regarding fingerprinting. Please let the Banner office know that you have started the process. We suggest you start this as soon as possible as it does take some time to process everything. You must be approved before you can take part in an activity.
