We Are "All-In" This Together...
Well, we have made it!
The 2019-2020 school year comes to a close Friday, May 22.
What we wouldn't have done to have had this spring with your children!
Thank you for support and encouragement. We appreciate you working with us to help your children continue to grow while we work together to keep our community and our families safe and healthy.
5th GRADE GRADUATION:
Congratulations to our graduating 5th grade class. Our Aloha class will always have a special place in our hearts.
Special thank you to Mr. Taylor with creating a beautiful 'Graduation Ceremony' for our students and their families. We could not have done any of this without you.
Our 5th grade team will be sending out the link to our 5th grade parents this week. The link will go 'live' on Wednesday evening, May 20 at 7:00 p.m.
CURBSIDE DROP-OFF & PICK-UP:
Information below explains how we are coordinating with you for Curbside Drop-Off and Pick Up beginning Wednesday, May 20 through Friday, May 22. PISD has specific instructions on how we can do this safely for our parents, our students, and our staff. Please review the information below in preparing for your Curbside Drop-Off and Pick-Up time as outlined below.
FUTURE e-News:
We will continue to keep our community informed and updated with information from Mathews. However, this will be our last 'Sunday Edition' since our students are officially 'off' for summer. Look for our weekly e-News on Friday afternoons moving forward.
With Grace, we are 'All-In' this together.
BRINGING 2019-2020 TO A CLOSE
Planning for 'Curbside Drop Off and Pick Up'' May 20-22
Beginning on Wednesday May 20 we will have scheduled times to come by the school through the carpool line for 'Curbside Drop Off and Pick Up'!
Families with children in multiple grade levels can select which time to come that best works with your family's schedule.
Per PISD:
Parent/Student Expectations During Material Exchange
Please share the following expectations for parents and students in advance of your scheduled material exchange day.
· Please wear a face covering when picking up or returning student materials.
· Follow COVID-19 preventative practices as advised by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
· Please stay in your vehicle. Follow the curbside process provided by your campus.
· Please do not come to the campus if you have been ill, if you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days, or if you are currently under isolation/quarantine orders.
THE SCHEDULE IS AS FOLLOWS:

10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Second and Third Grade

Working parents who can not come during the day.
Friday, May 22

Fourth and Fifth Grade (Grade 5 remember to also return Number the Stars)
Each grade level will send out reminders as to what you may have at home that will need to be returned in the next grade level S'mores.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO BEFORE YOUR 'CURB SIDE DROP OFF AND PICK UP' TIME:
1) Place all text books, library books or items belonging to the school in a plastic bag for each child and place each bag in the trunk of your car. Please have your child's name, grade, and teacher's name inside each bag.
2) When you pull up to the school (Carpool line off of Caravan Way) please have in the front passenger side window a sign with the boldly printed names of your child(ren)'s name, grade(s) and teacher(s). (This will help the line move more quickly.)
3) When you drive up, pop your trunk open. We will remove the materials you are returning to the school and place plastic bag(s) with your child(ren)'s name(s) on it in your trunk.
WHAT ABOUT CHROMEBOOKS?:
You have a choice regarding your child's Chromebook:
Chromebooks may be returned at this time.
- Please be sure to add a sticky note on the keyboard with your child's name, grade, and teacher's name on it.
- Place each chromebook you are returning in a separate plastic bag with the power cord.
- Do not place the chromebook in the same plastic bag with text books, library books, etc. We truly appreciate your help with this.
If you would like for your child to be able to use a chromebook during the summer to work on Dreambox or Pathblazers, or other learning opportunities you are welcome to wait and turn the Chromebook in the week of July 23-29.
MEDICATION:
All families with medication in the school have been contacted. Medication that did not have to be picked up and signed for by a parent will be in the belongings we return to you this week during Curbside Drop-Off and Pick-Up. Please remember to look for these items to properly store as soon as you get home. Thank you.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR FIFTH GRADE GRADUATES!
