Monitoring i-Ready Instructional Usage after the Mid-Year Diagnostic
Hello McAdenville Elementary School i-Ready team,
Now that you have completed the mid-year Diagnostic and had a chance to review the data, it is time to revisit the resources that will help to guide you and your educators so that i-Ready Online Instruction benefits are maximized. Please share this information with your educators.
You can check your current usage by going to: Reports>School Reports>Instructional Usage
As you prepare for the EOG, students’ i-Ready personalized lesson paths are more important than ever. These lessons help students fill gaps in their learning and make grade-level content much more accessible. Increasing the time students spend on i-Ready Instruction can be a fantastic way to meet students where they are and provide them with the differentiated instruction they need.
Below are a few key resources that will be helpful as students once again move into the i-Ready Instruction portion of the program and begin to prepare for the EOG:
- Extra Lessons: At this point in the year, your teachers may also wish to strategically use Extra Lessons in i-Ready to reinforce specific skills. Remember that a students’ automatic lesson path is designed to fill in gaps which is key in making grade-level content accessible. Therefore, if you wish to use Extra Lessons, it is important to do so sparingly and to make sure that students are still receiving sufficient time in their lesson path. Click here for the steps to add extra lessons.
- Monitoring Instructional Usage: As you know, it’s important to regularly review key reports to monitor students’ progress overall and in individual domains, as well, as track progress toward our recommended 45 minutes of instruction each week.
- For Teachers – Key instructional usage reports can be accessed from your home dashboard. The Class Response to Instruction and Student Response to Instruction reports provide usage data such as lesson pass rates by domain, time on task, and alerts for any students struggling with their lessons. Teachers also have a Class Instructional Usage report to monitor progress toward 45 minutes of weekly instruction.
- For Students– Remember that students can now see their Instructional Usage on their students’ dashboard! Here are Data Chat Guides that can also help you discuss Instructional Usage and set goals.
- Celebrating Success: Visit i-Ready Central Ideas for tips from i-Ready users on how they celebrate success within their classrooms.
