Classes resume on Monday, January 3.

Tartan Debate Team continues to excel

Tartan students won the entire rookie bracket at a recent Minnesota Urban Debate League Tournament! According to Augsburg, this is the first time this has happened (so we’re pretty excited)!

Our top four teams out of six took all bracket places and were crowned co-champions of the MNUDL City Championships:

Laura Afriyie and Odia Keita

Nadyiah Osman and Sabrena Thao

Zuhur Sheik Ali and Ramla Sharif

Maribel Ayala and Elijah Ziebell

And a big shout out to their coach, Jamie Maiers, who was named the Minnesota Urban Debate League Coach of the Year!

North High NHS makes a difference in our community

North High NHS put on their Cozy for a Cause event again this year! They first started this project in 2019. This year, the collected money went towards purchasing fleece for tied blankets, basic hygiene products, and winter gear for the NorthStar Youth Outreach Center located in Maplewood. The outreach center is a part of Tubman, a local organization that helps people in Hennepin, Ramsey, and Washington Counties and the surrounding area get the services, support, and information they need after experiencing trauma.

North High raised over $1,000 this year!
