Video Games Help You!

I asked myself, "Are video games good for you?" Yes, they are! I selected this topic because I am fond of video games. I play them whenever I have a chance too.

Video games can help your eyesight! Action gamers can see smaller letters. Minecraft, an extremely popular video game, is also good for you. It lets you be creative, leading to amazing buildings made by kids. You have better confidence while playing Minecraft and you experience teamwork.

Proof!

One test asked 623 people around the age of 25 to play "Super Mario 64" for 30 minutes a day in two months. Another group did not play video games at all. After 2 months, they found that the gaming group had a rise in the right hippocampus, an area of the brain responsible for strategic planning and fine motor skills in the hands.

Another test had 681 people ages 50 and older played online crossword puzzles. This test proved that challenging puzzles can slow down the aging process by 7 years.

Opinions

Dr. Isabela Granic says studies that reveal “People who play video games…that encourage cooperation are more likely to be helpful to others while gaming than those who play the same games competitively.”
