4.5 Week Progress Reports

The 4.5-week progress reports were available to parents and students in Infinite Campus on Thursday, September 15th. We hope that you have had the opportunity to review your scholar's grades and set goals for improvement for the next 4.5-week period. Monitoring grades in Infinite Campus is extremely important for your student's success.

As a reminder, Career Pathway students must earn a 2.5-semester G.P.A., and Magnet students must earn a 3.0-semester G.P.A. to maintain satisfactory academic standing. Students falling below this G.P.A. requirement at the end of the Fall 2022 semester are in jeopardy of being placed on academic probation or being exited from the academic program. Encourage your child to calculate their current G.P.A. by using the instructions attached below. Please speak to your child about their current status in their courses and contact your student’s teacher if you have any questions regarding their progress in a course. Parent-teacher conferences will be held on Tuesday, October 4th from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

PSAT Registration Going On Now

Any 9th and 11th-grade students interested in taking the PSAT will need to register to take PSAT by September 30, 2022. The cost of the test is $20. Since the school district pays for all 10th-grade students to take the PSAT, no 10th-grade students will need to register online for a test. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Rogers at Tammy_Bates@dekalbschoolsga.org.

Free or Reduced Lunch Meal Applications

The eligibility for free or reduced-price meals, based on meal benefits approved last school year (2021-22) will expire Monday, September 19th. Please visit www.SchoolCafe.com to apply for meal benefits as soon as possible if you have not done so already for the 22-23 school year. Meals will be full-price after September 19th.

School Uniforms

All students are expected to be dressed in their full AMHS Uniform daily. The uniform is a symbol of pride for our Arabia Mountain High School students. Each Monday is "Blazer Monday" and students should be in their AMHS blazers. Blazer Monday is AMHS's version of "dress for success." We want to start to prepare our students for the professional world that awaits them.

Arabia Mountain High School is a uniform school so any student that is out of uniform will be asked to contact their parents to bring them the appropriate AMHS uniform.

Parents, we are asking for your help in enforcing the appropriate wearing of our school uniform. This includes the navy blazer, the polo shirt with the AMHS logo, hoodless outerwear in the appropriate school color, mesh or clear book bags, and school-appropriate shoes in the correct color. This year's updates to our uniform policy were made to address both the uniformity of our students according to the school's charter as well as to address safety concerns. Assisting us in correcting your scholar's uniform prior to dropping them off at the shuttle locations or at school, alleviates the need to call you to bring them the appropriate attire and allows them to focus on what's important, instruction. Please review the uniform policy below with your student. Thank you in advance for assisting us with our uniform policy.
