Hello Maybury Parents & Scholars and welcome to week 18 of 2021!

Please pay close attention to the information listed this week as we are closed 2 additional days this week, have summer school enrollment available, device return dates and state testing and map testing information! Before diving into all that, RECOGNIZE a teacher today!

100% Virtual scholars are testing onsite this week Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for Math during the 9:00 am or 12:00 pm session. If you haven't scheduled with your scholar's teacher yet, please do so ASAP!

**Please ensure your scholar brings their school issued device (fully charged) with them when coming onsite to test as we do not have any additional devices for scholars to use!

Summer school enrollment is available NOW!!! Check out the Sylvan flyers and download the parent enrollment form to get your scholar signed up! This is a great way to prevent the summer "slide" and to fill in academic gaps your scholar may have or a great way to provide enrichment for those that need it!

• Our school day runs from 8:00-2:00 pm. Onsite scholars should be picked up at 2:00 pm, but no later than 2:15 pm as our teachers need to transition to teaching their virtual scholars. 100% virtual scholars will receive live instruction from 2:30-4:00 pm. Your scholars teacher will communicate directly with scholars and parents via email, class dojo, and kickboard with login platforms and information. 100% virtual scholars all have required work to complete throughout the school day so it is imperative that they/you are consistently checking their emails and submitting the required work.

• For hybrid scholars, dismissal is promptly at 2:00 pm. All scholars MUST be picked up by 2:30 pm at the absolute latest as there will be no adult supervision provided beyond 2:30 pm. We will issue a verbal warning the first time a scholar remains onsite beyond 2:30 pm, a written letter warning the second time and the third time we will issue a letter and contact the Columbus City Police Department/Child Services out of concern for the scholar's welfare. If you know that you are running late or have arranged for an alternate method of pickup, please ensure you have contacted the front office no later than 1:30 pm to communicate this information.
  

• PLEASE remember to have your scholar bring their device each time they come onsite. Have them charge their devices the night before so they are ready to rock and roll when the school day begins!

• Please be sure that your scholar is logging on daily at his/her scheduled time. Attendance is taken every day. We are mandated by the state to withdraw any scholar who misses 72 consecutive hours of school.

Water Bottle Donations - we are in need of any donations from families or businesses

Classes will be 100% virtual this Thursday and Friday due to a shortage in staff, however for those scholars scheduled to take their Ohio state math test, the building will be open for the 9 am and 12:00 pm session. Again, the building will ONLY be open to those 100% virtual scholars in grades 3-6 scheduled to take their Ohio state test. Scholars need to be picked up immediately following their completion of the test. The virtual school day will run from 9:00-2:00 pm and all 100% virtual scholars K-4 should be logged on for their class sessions at 9:00 am as there will not be any 2:30-4:00 sessions. 100% virtual 5/6 Scholars should continue to follow their normal schedule with Mrs. Padilla for ELA.

MAP Testing Begins May 17th - Yes, we know there has been a lot of testing. Please know that this final test is more important than ever for your scholar! The scores from MAP testing will communicate individual growth that has taken place during this school year and give us information that is necessary to determine how we can remediate and/or enrich content for your scholar during the summer months!

Group A Scholars will return their technology on Monday, May 10, 2021 and Tuesday, May 11, 2021. Teachers will have in class work and take home packets for the remainder of the school year.

Group B Scholars will return their technology on Thursday, May 13, 2021 and Friday, May 14, 2021. Teachers will have in class work and take home packets for the remainder of the school year.

Group C Scholars will return their technology on Monday, May 10, 2021 and Tuesday, May 11, 2021. Teachers will have in class work and take home packets for the remainder of the school year.

All 100% virtual scholars will return technology on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Device Return times are from 9:30 a.m. - 1: 30 p.m. When technology is returned, Teachers will have take home packets for the remainder of the school year.

It has been decided that State Testing will be taking place this year. It is required that scholars take the test IN-PERSON. Yes, we will accommodate the specific health and safety needs of scholars, due to COVID. More information to come. 5th grade scholars also take a state Science test and will take the Science test the same day they take the math assessment.

Former A+ scholar Deshawn Gonclaves' journey on American Idol unfortunately came to an end on Sunday. We are extremely proud of him and are confident that this is just a stepping stone on to something even better! Enjoy his delightful performance from Sunday night and show him that A+ LOVE!
