Friday Mail
What's Happening Week of October 8, 2018
Welcome to the Monday Edition of Friday Mail! There will be NO Friday Mail this week as I will be traveling... so everything you need to know is included here.
The most important event coming up is our Grandparent's Day Mass with Bishop McManus on Thursday, October 18th at 10:00. I know we are still looking for fruit donations and book fair help. We appreciate any donations you're able to make for this day.
Our students really did "Rock the Test" last week as we began our MAP Testing. There are a few more days this week to finish up reading and language. They are all becoming pros at it. I'm pleased our students have tried their best on each test and some have even said it was fun!

This school year's Scholastic Fall Book Fair will be held Monday, October 15th through Friday, October 19th during the mornings in the gym. Fair hours are as follows: Monday 10:00 - 11:00, Tuesday & Wednesday 8:30 - 11:00, Thursday (Grandparent's Day!) 8:30 - 12:00 , Friday 8:30 - 10:30. Students will be given opportunities to shop the fair all week and parents are welcome to shop any time the fair is open!
For those who are unable to make any of the Fair hours, we will have online shopping available! Any book offered at the Fair will also be available for purchase online. The Online Fair will be open from 10/10/18 - 10/23/18. Books ordered online will be delivered to the school 7-10 days after the Online Fair ends and will be sent home with your child. Please let the office know if the books are gifts that you would rather pick up and they can be held in the office for you.
You can visit the Online Book Fair at: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bookfairs/cptoolkit/homepage.do?method=homepage&url=stannacatholicschool1
Scholastic Books is offering a specially priced paperback edition of Jeff Kinney's newest book; Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Meltdown, scheduled to go on sale October 30, 2018. Copies of the book can be pre-ordered during the Fair. To order, complete a Pre-Sale Form and submit it at the Fair with payment. The books will be delivered to the school 5-7 days after the release date. Pre-Sale forms will also be available at the Fair.
Acceptable forms of payment at the Fair are cash, check, credit card, and Scholastic eWallets.
eWallets are spending accounts that parents can create online on the school's Scholastic Book Fair Homepage. Using a credit card, parents determine how much money their child can spend at the fair. The child then does not need to bring any money to the Fair, the transaction will be done at the register and will be applied to the child's eWallet account. Accounts can be set up, and/or adjusted, two weeks before the Fair begins through the last day of the Fair. Any money left unused on the account after the Fair ends, will be applied back to the parent's credit card. Check out the school's Scholastic Book Fair Homepage for more information and account set up instructions!
We are looking for volunteers to help set up and run the fair. If you are able to help out any of the days, please add your name to the sign-up sheet for any time slot(s) that you are available:

Amazon SMILE!!!
Exciting news! St Anna's is on AmazonSmile! Here's how it works:
When you shop online at Amazon; go to smile.amazon.com rather than just plain old amazon and choose "St Anna's Church" as your charity. The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of all eligible purchases to the school. After shopping, you can see how much of your purchase was donated by clicking on the "your AmazonSmile impact" link.
Try it today! You can even change your charity if you've already signed up!
