ATHLETICS THIS WEEK
LDB FUTURES SOFTBALL TEAM

7TH GRADE FOOTBALL
The 7th grade A team had a tough night against the Spartans under the lights of Pennington Field. Bedford came out swinging and Tayvian Morris struck first with a 30 yard TD followed up by an extra point kick by DJ Noriega. The Spartans fired back and the Broncos were unable to stop their inside ground attack. Anthony Price had a tremendous showing on the night racking up big numbers on the ground but was unable to get to the end zone. The offensive line led by Pryce Alvord held their ground against a formidable Spartan defensive line. The final score on the night was 28-8 with a Spartan victory over the Broncos.
The 7th grade football B team Broncos put on a great show against the Central Spartans at Pennington Field. Quarterback Myles Still had a great night scoring multiple TDs as well as running back Ahmad Al Sary who had a dominant ground game. Kaleb Riley also had multiple catches on the night to help the Broncos finish on top with a 25-6 victory over the Spartans.
The 7th grade football C team played Harwood won big 33-0. Jaiterion Hall started the scoring with a nice run, then Logan Charles, Leo Wesley, Adriel Monell, and Marvin Sorto added touchdowns of their own. The defense played great, forced several turnovers, and did not give up a first down in the win. Great job Broncos!
FRESHMAN VOLLEYBALL
The freshman Lady Broncos competed against rival Harwood Junior High last Friday night at the "Bell vs. Trinity" volleyball match. The girls defended the home court & took home the victory in a dominating fashion...as always. Hannah Due, Presley Rivers, and Macey Spicer served a total of 25 serves in both sets where the Blackhawks just could not return the ball. In addition, Emily Ventrca, Briley Young, Ella Trevino, defended the net. Natalie Luna, Tagan Henley, and Katrina Spencer defended the back row. The Blackhawks also could handle our swings from Alina Vogt, Hannah due, Emily Ventrca, Avery Burgan and Presley Rivers. The girls ended up winning in two sets, 25-6 and 25-9.
Tuesday night the girls played the Hurst Junior High and continued their winning streak defeating the Red Raiders in two sets: 25-14 and 25-13. Highlights of the game were Alina Vogt, Hannah Due, and Avery Burgan's stellar swings from outside, Gracie Schwartz and Macey Spicer's setter-surprise-attacks, Katrina Spencer & Presley River's drop-down serves!
8TH GRADE VOLLEYBALL
The 8th Grade Team 1 Volleyball defeated Central Jr. High in two sets as well 25-10, 25-16. Hailee Blocker-Smith and Kenslee Turner led the service attack. Reagan Ingram, Talia Soliai-Tui, Jenna Fuchs and MuRae Horn led the spiking attack. Natalie Roach and Sara Thapa-Magar provided great setting assists all match and Olivia Delgado & Christa Lopez provided solid ball control that led to attack after attack!
These two teams continue to improve and are look to continue next week vs Euless at Home.
7TH GRADE VOLLEYBALL
This weekend the Lady Bronco 7th grade volleyball Team 1 proved they are a force to be reckoned with at the Euless Tournament.
On Friday night in pool play, the girls took down Central in commanding fashion and held off a competitive North Ridge team, to earn the #1 spot going into bracket play.
Saturday morning the bracket lined us up with Central again, and the result was the same -- a dominant win to move us to the championship game. North Ridge fought their way through the bracket to meet us again in the championship. In game 1, the Bobcats went point for point with us and we were all tied up at 11, but a string of tough serves by Brooklyn Morgan the second time through the lineup helped us pull away 16 -11, then London Morgan's serves and 4 tough plays at the net by Sydney Pietzsch sealed game one with a 25 - 13 win. Great passing and some outstanding defensive plays on the net by Jillian Smith, Reagan Bennet, Maddy Martinak, Sariyah Crater, and Gabby Bowens kept us in a great position to win.
In game two, our girls took a lead and never looked back. Valentina Betacourt's service pressure put us up 8-2 early, then Pietzsch added 6 to make it 14 - 4. Strong defense by Kynlee Horn, Emlyn Dibble, Reagan Dodd kept us rolling and we ended the game 25-20, taking the championship!

On Monday the 7th grade Lady Broncos took down the Central Spartans with command, and their service pressure was the star of the show.
In Team 2's match, our girls got out to a 13-8 start in game 1 before Eva Moore went on a 8-point serving run to leave the Spartans in the dust 22 - 8. Kynzie Case came in and capped the game with two tough serves to seal the win, 25 - 12.
Some great passing by Brooke McLain, and Juliyana J, and strong net presence by Cora Berry, Genesis Morales, and Ayanna Weang kept us in the game and supported our serving game.
In game 2, Team 2 decided to make a statement and, with great defense and huge serving runs by Ava Diviney and Aliya Johnson accounting for 16 of our 25 points, beat the Spartans 25 - 5 to win the match.
Of course, those runs wouldn't have been possible without solid defense behind them, and Savannah Shaw, Alexis Tabor, Morgan Stralow and Aishia Tsing provided just that all game.
In Team 1's first game, it was much of the same story. Our girls came out focused and ready to get another win, after a weekend of winning at the Euless Tournament. Once again, Brooklyn Morgan and Valentina Betancourt started us off with two strong serving rotations, and then London Morgan went wild, serving 12 in a row that the Spartans just couldn't handle, putting us up 23 - 4, before Reagan Bennet put the final points down and sealed the win 25 - 5. Great net play by Sariyah Crater, Gabby Bowen and Sydney Pietzsch and passing by Jillian Smith and Maddy Martinak kept us going through the rallies and kept the ball in our servers hands the whole game.
In the second game, B Morgan and Betancourt led us in serving again, but Reagan Dodd and Kynlee Horn provided just as much power from behind the service line. Ellie Bragg and Emlyn Dibble gave us some great defensive saves in the back row, too.
Those wins move both teams to 3 - 2 on the season, with Euless on the schedule for next Wednesday.
