Pollinator Garden is "IN"!
Before the weather turned cold we were able to plant our native plants, lay down our cardboard/paper and straw as our ground cover, place large stepping stones and start the stone edging around our flower beds. Mrs. Diaz purchased some of our more mature plants for which we need to reimburse her. Currently we have no monetary donations so we are requesting that you consider helping out with the upkeep of the garden. In the spring the district will be donating mulch for our bed. The management and the long-term upkeep of the garden will be an ongoing study/project of the PEGS classes this year. We will also be studying how our garden might affect the local pollinators in our community
Cooking In PEGS I
During the two days before Thanksgiving Break the class made homemade cranberry sauce and applesauce. We used an "old-fashioned" ricer and food grinder to prepare our two dishes. We also studied about the history and related topics about Thanksgiving. Over the Thanksgiving Break each student was to write a newspaper about their Thanksgiving called the "Gobbler Gazette". Look for them outside our door.
