Principals Corner: Spreading December Holiday Cheer!
Good morning Hawks families,
"It's the most wonderful time...of the year..." Well, for many of our staff and students the holidays are a time filled with joy and cheer. However, we know that not every student feels this way and so we work hard at CPHS to care for one another and ensure our students have the support they need throughout the year. If you are interested in donating to a student in need, we have several donation tags on our Giving Tree in the main office. Please feel free to swing by and take a tag, and return those items back to our office so we can get them in the hands of those in need.
We also hope to see you at our 8th annual Christmas Eve Luncheon on Saturday, December 16. This is a family event with entertainment and of course, a great homecooked meal for any interested in our community. Swing by any time from 11:00am to 2:30pm. We will be a dine-in event this year, encouraging people to come into the cafeteria to join us for the festivities. Details can be found below in our flyer for the Holiday Luncheon.
The holiday spirit has found its way into our band and choir this season, so we hope to see you at one of our holiday concerts here at CPHS:
High School Choir - Wednesday, December 6 at 7:00pm
High School Band - Monday, December 11 at 7:00pm
Below is also a sign-up genius link for a Staff Holiday Breakfast event that our Parent Advisory Council pus on for our staff every December. Please consider signing-up to participate!
Additionally, in this edition of the Hawks Happenings newsletter, we have information to share about our upcoming Student Showcase event, Five Star Hawks Recipients, J Term 2024, and more!
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out at 509-522-3312.
Thank you and Go Hawks!

J Term 2024
We are excited for our upcoming January 16-26 third annual J Term experiential learning opportunity. For those new to CPHS, this two week window between first and second semester, is an intentional opportunity to break from our traditional courses and to give students unique learning experiences in a variety of areas that are both teacher and student interest driven.
Students recently were given our J Term Course Catalog and a registration link to select their top five potential courses of interest. We hope to have students scheduled into their J Term selections before Winter Break. If you are interested to see what we are offering this year, please help yourself to look through the attached course catalog!
Instructional Shout-Out: Ms. Allison Collier
This month's instructional shout out goes to Resource Math and Academic Support teacher, Ms. Allison Collier.
Ms. Collier is a second year teacher who has a natural gift for working with some of our most challenging and struggling learners. Her patience, high expectations, and ability to help create clear sequential learning steps that build upon each other, give her a strong ability to help our students who need the most support.
Ms. Collier loves being a teacher! You will often hear her say in her classrooms, "I agree with that answer, good job, but I want to hear from you so I know you know how you did it."
Ms. Collier's classes are one of the least skipped in the school, with a high attendance rate that is attributed to her ability to make students feel seen and heard, safe and valued, and where they can get the help they need in order to succeed. Way to go Ms. Collier!
Five Star Hawks Recipients! November Theme: Celebrating Differences
Congratulations to our staff November nominated outstanding students who exemplify the CP Way belief of Celebrating our Differences!
