The Desert

Climate and Weather
During the day a desert can be very, very, hot! But when night falls it can get below freezing. During the summer highs in the desert can be over 120 F and at night can get down to around freezing. During the winter It can reach highs of over 90 to 100 F and a low of around -40 F. The desert receives little to no rainfall. It receives less than 50cm of rain every year.
Thorny Devil
It is adapted to the desert because it can go for long periods of time without water. And can protect itself well.
Cactus Wren
It is adapted to the desert because it can burrow it to cacti and get water and shelter and knows to hunt at night when its cooler on insects and small reptiles.
Kangaroo Rat
It is adapted to the desert because it burrows all day and feeds at night when it is cooler on grass and insects.
Jumping Cholla
It is adapted to the desert because it is close to the ground and has sharps spines that stick to anything, and needs little water.
Octillio
It is adapted to the desert because it has needs little water it stores it all at the core of the plant. It is defended with sharp edges and points.
Saguaro Cactus
It is adapted to the desert because it needs little to no water for a long time because it stores it inside. It also has spikes to defend its self from creatures looking for water.
