Message from Mrs. Martin, your principal
I hope you are all well! This week was definitely another adjustment for all of us. Our teachers are tirelessly planning to support learning for all students. Our families and students are exploring all the new tools, lessons, and videos. Please know, we realize that this is overwhelming for everyone. Our teachers were eager to provide learning opportunities for your child. Please take this one day at a time because we do know that learning at home and school can feel very different.
Our goal during this time is to maintain relationships with all of our students so they feel connected to our school staff and each other. In addition, we want to provide all students rigorous learning opportunities to ensure they are continuing to develop towards grade level standards. With that being said, please do not hesitate to monitor the work load and schedule within your home.
As we continue this journey of remote learning with our students and families, teachers will be taking feedback from you through the daily class meetings, office hours, and email. Please reach out with any celebrations and/or concerns.
Thank you again for your partnership!
Shanna Martin

Hello to our Bishop Community!
I am so glad to be a part of the Bishop Family during these unprecedented and unsettling times. This week, I have been so happy to get into some remote classrooms. In Mrs. Smith’s classroom, students shared and talked about their favorite “stuffies.” Ms. Caravella’s class was planning a hat day. In Mrs. Wolf’s class, the students were working to schedule a “Zoom lunch” together. Seeing our Bishop Bears again has given me a renewed sense of hopefulness!
I know that this is a very stressful time for many in our community. Englewood has put together a list of resources and supports here: http://www.englewoodschools.net/covid-19-resources. Our Bishop team is also here to support our students and families.
Please let me know if your child needs extra supports during this time. I am happy to talk with you about what might be most helpful. You are welcome to come to my Office Hours from 2:30-3:30 Tuesday – Friday: https://zoom.us/j/533077805
You are also welcome to email (kim_fickas@engschools.net) or call (720) 797-2586. I am confident that we can all adjust to our current “new normal,” and hopeful that we will be back to a more familiar normal soon.
Take care,
