5 Sections: K-3 Rated, 4-6 Rated, 7-12 Rated, K-3 Unrated, 4-8 Unrated. Sections must have at least 5 players or will be combined if able USCF Rated sections require USCF Membership; Unrated section does not.
Prizes: Trophies awarded to the top 3 ONLY in each section. Ribbons to all individual non-trophy winners. Final placements will be determined by USCF- recommended computer pairing system tiebreaks (MSCO).
Pre-Registration: You may pre-register on-line at www.shelbycountychess.com or you may register by phone at (901) 276- 4663 or you may send in the entry form below and mail it along with a check payable to Shelby County Chess at 1614 Vance Ave. Memphis, TN 38104 (VISA, Mastercard, Discover & American Express) First round will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday May 6.
On-Site Registration: On-site registration will be held from 12:00 p.m.- 12:30 p.m. the day of the tournament. If you arrive after 12:30 p.m., you may be given a 1/2 point bye for the first round and then you will be paired for the remaning rounds. Awards ceremony will be held after the last round. It is anticipated that the event, including the awards ceremony, will end before 6:00 p.m.
Tournamen Entry Fee: $15 per player by May 4; $20 after and at site.
Byes: A Bye (1/2 point) is available for any round. Limit one bye per player. You must notify the Tournament Director of a requested Bye prior to the start of the second round. No Elmination... everyone will play all scheduled rounds!
Misc.: Players should bring their own chess boards, sets, and clocks, if available; none will be provided. USCF rules (e.g., touch move rule) will be in effect for this tournament. Snacks available for purchase on site. For more info, please call 901-276-4663.
