Superintendent's Update - 12.10.2021

Dear CPS Community,

The fall weather has quickly ended and winter is at our doorstep. We woke to our first coating of snow this past week on our lawns and roadways. However, the forecast is for warmer weather heading into next week, you have to love New England weather, it will be interesting to see what Mother Nature has in store for us in the coming months.

In this week’s update below, please find links to the latest COVID-19 district dashboard and pool testing results. Vaccination rates continue to increase among our 5 to 11-year-old student populations. We are hosting a vaccination clinic this afternoon for about 400 of our elementary-age students to receive their second dose of the vaccine. If you have not already done so, I strongly encourage you to have your child vaccinated to protect them against COVID and to minimize the chance of spread in our school community.

We are moving quickly through December and are only two weeks away from breaking for the December recess. I noted last week that our holiday concert season was in full swing. As concert recordings become available, I will post them in the newsletter. If you do have a chance to attend one of our school concerts in person, I guarantee you will be glad you did!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Yours truly,

Jay Lang, Ed.D.
