Welcome to the Woodland Park School District e-Newsletter, which is sent out weekly when school is in session. It serves as a glimpse of some of the wonderful things going on in our schools, as well as a point of reference for upcoming events.

School Board Reorganization
Congratulations to incumbent Glen Grimes, left, newcomer Kimberly Galbraith, center, and newcomer Julissa Rodriguez, who were sworn into their Board of Education trustee seats by Mayor Tracy Kallert at Tuesday night's annual reorganization meeting. In addition, the board selected Joseph Giammarella to serve as president for 2024 and Glen Grimes to serve as vice president.
STEM Challenge
Mrs. Bouroult and Ms. Bernardo's kindergarten students at Charles Olbon School completed a winter STEM challenge before heading into the holiday break. The students brainstormed design ideas for snowflakes, and then used toothpicks and marshmallows to bring their creations to life!
Woodland Park Library Winter Reading Program Kicks Off Monday
The Woodland Park Library at Berkeley College announces this year’s winter reading program: “Get Yeti to Read.” Children of all ages are welcome to participate. Each registered child will receive an at-home reading log, where they can color in a yeti footprint for each day they read. At the library, yeti footprints will be on display and each child will also place a sticker on their footprint for each day they have read. A supplemental book log will also be available to track books read. Prizes will be available for children who read the most books and for the most days.
The program begins on Monday, Jan. 8 and ends on March 31. Patrons can register for this program here. As you know, the Alfred H. Baumann Library has relocated temporarily to the Berkeley College campus, 44 Rifle Camp Rd. Any questions, call the library at 973-345-8120 or click here.
