Phishing
Can YOU detect it?
What is phishing?
Phishing is when people send you an email that looks just like an email from a company saying that you need to re-enter your information. What they are really doing is trying to get into your email, social security number, your contact lists, bank information, passwords and more! Sometimes these emails can be true, but you need to know how to detect it when it's fake.
Don't let your credit card be caught by phishers!
Don't let yourself be hooked by phishers!
Phishing can look as real as this. The problem is that they don't actually have a big red "PHISHING" stamp across it.
How to detect phishing
One way to check is to look at who the email is addressed to. If it says something like "to customer" it is probably a scam. If this was real, they would have used your name. Secondly, check to see if they spelled stuff wrong. That is a pretty clear way of knowing that you are being phished. Also, check the address that the email is from. Make sure it really is the company. They might have their address as "facbook.com" instead of "facebook.com"
