Traveling
I love traveling! I studied abroad the summer of 2015 and backpacked through Europe for 3 weeks. I have visited Paris, London, Croatia, Venice, Rome, Krakow, Amsterdam and many major cities around America.
Best friends
My best friends and roommates are Josh and Bradley. We met 5 years ago at Publix where we worked, in Columbia South Carolina. After we because good friends, we decided there was not better place to attend than College of Charleston and it is the best decision I have ever made.
Important People
The most important and influential people in my life are probably my parents. They are both elementary education majors and I hope to follow in their footsteps in becoming an excellent teacher.
Something unique about me, is that I was a competitive gymnast for 12 years. I was considered for scholarships at University of Alaska as well as other small schools in Wisconsin and Michigan. Sadly, I broke my back my senior year of high school and was unable to continue doing gymnastics.
I am very excited to learn new and interesting strategies for integrating art into my classroom as a future elementary education teacher. What you want from this class. One of the best education experience I can remember was when I was in elementary school, and we were asked to measure the length of certain surfaces, using toothpicks. I felt like this was a very meaningful learning opportunity because it made length and distance more applicable than the official terms (inches, feet, yards, miles etc)
