News From the Office

Congratulations Spencer

This week I traveled to Lansing with our District Nurse, Wendy Plave and Hawkins Administrator, Basia Kiehler to receive our awards for becoming the first district in the county to become a Heart Safe School.

This means Spencer has an emergency response plan and a medical response team. We have AED machines at Spencer and trained personnel on how to use them in case of an emergency.

Pick Up Procedure At The End Of The Day

We ask that when you are picking up your child in the pick up room that you have your Family Pass with you everyday. While some of the staff on bus duty may recognize you, on any given day a substitute could be in that position who may not recognize you. We also switch bus duty posts at the end of each trimester, so it is necessary for your child's safety that you have the Family Pass with you each day. If you do not have it with you, you may come to the office to get a temporary pass for that day. Thanks for your cooperation!

Lunch Visitors

We request that only if you are scheduled to volunteer in your child's classroom immediately following their lunch, that you go down with their class to the room. If you need to speak with your child's teacher, you can email them to schedule a time for that.

Attendance Information

We are now more than halfway through our first trimester! Just a friendly reminder that the final bell rings at 8:47 am, therefore, the tardy time begins at 8:47 am. Per the student handbook, we consider three (3) tardies to be equivalent to one (1) absence. Please be mindful of this when you drop off your child in the morning.
